As a concept, the SIGG bottle is great. The design is nice, it's metal (not plastic), sturdy, with a solid "looped" top. But in practice, it's not all it's cracked up to be. I've owned mine for about a year now. At first I really liked it and although I could notice a "unique" smell and taste occasionally, as long as it never got even a little warm (don't even think about leaving it in the sun), the flavor was minor. Over time though, It's gotten to where I can barely stand to drink the water I put in even if it's only been in there for 30 minutes.
My understanding is that SIGG bottles use a polycarbonate lining - This is what Nalgenes are made of! I believe they are exploring other lining options (after the brewhaha about BPEs), ... Read More:
