Family Tree Maker 2009 Essentials

My wife is an avid genealogist and has been using Family Tree Maker for many years. I purchased this for her to replace FTM 2006 that she has been using for the last 3 years or so since that version would not run properly on our new Windows Vista PC (by the way, this 2009 version runs fine on Vista 64 bit, SP1). We had purposefully skipped the upgrade to FTM 2008 because of all the negative reviews we had read.

My wife has been using FTM 2009 for about 3 weeks now, and she loves it. She tells me that there is nothing she could do in FTM 2006 that she cannot do in FTM 2009. I consider myself pretty techie but this software is hard to use. I see a recipe I'd like to add to my menu plan and I have to go out of the cookbook and back into the menu plan and add it. I'm not expecting drag and drop (although how cool would that be?) but tedious to build a plan. Then menu plan vs. meal plan and confusing term swaps. It also wants to add ingredients in it's own way--making me tab through to add things the way I want (cheese in ounces vs. slices). Maybe I didn't study it enough but I've just been very challenged in using it so far. I'm sticking with my pencil and paper and xerox copies of recipes I like!

Final Draft 7 Professional Scriptwriting Win/Mac

Final Draft is seriously the best screenwriting software out there. I'm a college student looking to go into the Film industry, and with the help of Final Draft, I am able to get my ideas easily into the script format!

I just upgraded to FTM 2009 from a 1996 version and I am so thankful I did. New capabilities, new tools and much more intuitive. This is really going to help my family tree work. My entire family is excited about searching for their ancestors, their history and FTM 2009 gives us the tools we need and the professional results we want.

The cards print fold well and show good color for a matte finish. But for some reason they have a very hard time feeding in my Epson printer. I have to help them one sheet at a time.

Absolutely MAD Magazine - 50+ Years

This was an excellent buy! I am thoroughly enjoying this product and
would recommend it to any MAD fan! It's good to catch up and to see
the old magazines I remember reading as a child. It was fun to go

Some before said that you must have SP3, I'm sorry but you are wrong about you have to have SP3 for installation, I will not download SP3 because it still has bugs in it especially if you own a media center pc which I do, I have SP2 and this software loaded just fine.

I have been using this program for a couple of weeks now and really like it. I am new to scrapbooking and this program is very easy to use and navigate. I'm the kind of person that I don't like to have to read directions. I want to just start creating and I was able to do that with this program. I have used some of the templates as well as using them for ideas. The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because there are a few things I would change about it such as being able to see the change to a word when scolling thru the fonts instead of having to click on each one to see the change but that's not a huge issue.
I am now hooked on digital scrapping. I love it.
