I bought this and like other people got the dogs used to it. I let them see it with out the batteries first then with the sound. They did ok. When I first started on the one dog (a bichon) she did not like it, but she does about the same with the clippers. We got one paw done in about 10 minutes, so I stoppped. I tried one nail on the other dog and she did ok. It does take a while, but I like the speed since any faster and I think it would hurt them. One thing I did notice is that there is no directions on which way this thing should be held and found the direction it is held on the picture on the box did not work as well.
