AeroGrow AeroGarden with Gourmet Herb Seed Kit, Black

I have had my Aerogarden since May'08, and as of this review, 11/13/08, the first seed kit is still going.

All you have to do is read the directions, takes about 5 mins, and turn it on. 7 weeks later I had fresh herbs to use in my cooking.

Do you know how great it is to put fresh basil on all of your italian dishes? Without even going to the store?

I love to cook, and using the fresh herbs has opened up a new arena.

Some of these herbs are $5 for 4 oz at the store in those little plastic containers. This is right in your home.

The "value" of it will pay for itself in the long run, but defiantly, not within the first year of so.

AeroGarden Cherry Tomato Seed Kit

Tomatoes are growing as stated. Everyting is fine so far. Product is a bit pricey. That is the only negative I can see.

AeroGarden PRO100 with Gourmet Herb Seed Kit

This is definitely the size you want if you are growing cherry tomatoes. The standard size was just too small and at the highest light setting, the tomatoes were growing past and burning. I would have liked to know when to plant the salad in conjunction with the tomatoes because it looks like the salad will be finished growing before the tomatoes are ready to eat.

If growing the cherry tomatoes, you really do want the trellis system because it is next to impossible to rig up something to fit. I ended up cutting a piece of plastic fencing to wrap around the whole unit to hold the plants upright. They seriously fall over and look like they are going to fall out.

AeroGarden Classic Replacement Grow Bulbs, Package of 2

I purchased my first AeroGarden 2 years ago and I just now needed to replace the lights. They lasted much longer than the company said they would. I recently purchased a second AeroGarden and am growing cherry tomatoes in one and romaine in the other! I truly have a black thumb, so I have been amazed at the success I've had with the AeroGarden!

AeroGarden Space-Saver 6 with Gourmet Herb Seed Kit - Black

I'm very happy Aerogarden decided to make a slightly smaller unit; their regular gardens take up so much space.

The Spacesaver comes in a huge box, but does not weigh much at all. The bulk of the box (and the unit) is nothing but some pieces of plastic. Installation is a breeze (if you read the manual correctly) and when it is all put together you do end up with a pretty sturdy setup, I just can't help feel that it is all rather cheap for the price.

The unit itself has a neat control panel with indicators for all the various settings. All in all a good item, and a perfect gift if you can find it at the right price.

AeroGarden Salad Chef Pack

The AeroGarden had been so fun to use, and the Salad Chef Pack is especially gratifying in that I can just pluck a few leaves and put it on a sandwich or make a small salad. The grandkids think this is just the best idea ever. I purchased the AeroGarden for my father who has been a gardener for years. He still loves the outdoor activity of his garden (at 92) but is having a good time with this as well. He shows his great granddaughters how it works, shows them when the plants start growing, has them help harvest, and makes tasty treats for them. Now, how much more fun could you want?

AeroGarden Pro 200 with Master Gardener 1-Season Kit, Gourmet Herb Seed Kit

Works as well as advertised, and is a very flexible system. You can grow other herbs or fruiting plants from cuttings - I grew vietnamese mint with a lot of success. The pump is almost inaudible and it puts out a lot of light for the wattage.

However, if you are getting it as a way of saving money, forget it. It uses too much power. If you are getting it as an easier alternative to pot plants, and you live in a house or apartment that gets a lot of light, then I think you might get more enjoyment out of using dirt to plant your herbs in - and it would be cheaper and more environmentally friendly. But if, like me, you live in an apartment or terrace house that never gets direct sun, it is the only way you can grow herbs or tomatoes. That's ... Read More:

This is our second AeroGarden. The first one has provided us with an amazing supply of herbs and even some vegetables throughout the year. We are purchasing another one now to increase our crop!

AeroGarden Master Gardener Deluxe Kit, 3-Season

Don't bother spending the money. Re-use the pods you already have. I've picked up Rapid Rooters and Dyna-Gro 7-9-5 plant food from a hydroponics store, and I've had no problems growing two batches of lettuce and herbs from my own seeds.
