The manual does not specify the most important quality difference between recording in STXQ mode versus STHQ.

STXQ results in 128kbps WMA recording.
STHQ results in 64kbps WMA recording.
Both modes are 44.1KHz 16 bit.

The conclusion is that if you are recording music or otherwise want the highest quality, you must record in STXQ mode.

This is a fantastic recorder. But it is not the ultimate recorder for musicians. For example, see the Zoom H4 or the Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM Recorder.

I am a person who likes product quality and reliability, but I don't want to pay the "name tag" pricing (in this case HP). After using refurbished cartridges that ruined my printer, I started using HP cartridges and had no problem since. To keep the cost down, I'm using the Amazon Subscribe&Save program. Crayola 150-Count Telescoping Crayon Tower

I've bought 2 Sets of this 150 count crayola crayon tower. There ARE 150 different colors. Some of them have similar colors; except some are gels,metallic & glitter. The gels are a creamy/smooth texture when you color. The metallics have a nice creamy shimmery texture. The glitters have the regular crayola quality just bits of glitter come out when you color. When I bought them some of the crayons looked the same until I used them on white paper. My friend & I had a blast trying out my kids crayons. I bought a second tower for her kids. They were just too much fun!!! Like I said some of the crayons look the same until you try them out. I will never buy another HP anything. These ink cartridges last plenty of time in my printer, I've had the same cartridges for over 4 months with light to moderate printing. Never had a single problem with the printer or ink.

Works well to keep your laptop in an acceptable position when used on the couch so it doesn't slide, block the vents, or potentially damage the power cord. Also works well on your lap if your laptop gets too hot.

I got a ip1800 printer with my computer purchase and found that the ink runs out so quickly. I also own a HP photosmart printer and it uses ink more efficiently. HP's #56 ink can normally last much longer even though the print quality is not as good. I just hate to purchase the ink once in a while. They are expensive too.

I am a low volume user and don't see any upside to using ink from manufacturers I don't know. A couple of bucks a year just isn't worth it. I have bought a number of Canon ink cartridges and never had a problem.
