If you own a ONKYO HT-SR800 7.1 then you should consider getting the DMP-BD55K instead of this one. The reason is that the ONKYO does not accept audio through the HDMI cable. Crazy, no? If you really want 7.1 for your system then I'd suggest getting the Panasonic DMP-BD55K which has audio outputs that can go to the ONKYO. Otherwise, for the BD35K you only have optical output which is limited to 5.1 apparently.
If anybody has a slicker way of getting around this conundrum, please jump in.
I live in Brazil and am on my way to NYC in a week and want to pick up a Blu-Ray. I am pretty much decided on either the 35k or 55k, for US100.00 it is worth it to get the 55k?
Also, here in Brazil we have a different region DVD (I think we are region 4 and the USA is region 1) but the same Blu-Ray region (Americas, I believe it is region A). Can anyone tell me if I will be able to play local DVDs on this Blu-Ray player? Or will I have to "unblock" the player? Obviously, I don't want to occupy my HDMIs with redundant equipment.
I love my sound/video, but am not really a technofile, pretty much in the dark on this one.
Sorry I used the "review" space for my questions, but I didnt know where else to turn, and I respect the opinions ... Read More:
This is the 4th Lumix I have had and I love them as my everyday camera. Unfortunately since I use them everywhere they have a tendency to get dust etc & malfunction fairly easily even with proper care.
I keep getting new ones (cheaper than getting repaired) because they are easy to use and take great pictures.

I purchased this headset with my Panasonic bus phone a year ago based on the reviews made here at Amazon. As noted, it truly was a great purchase. To this day, no problems, and still using it.
I agree with the other reviewers that this is a good phone system. Here's my problem: Talking Caller ID - even though the manual states that the phone announces the name and/or number, it just says the name in my experience (1 week). So if the caller name is 'Not Available', that's what the phone says - instead of the number. Same with 'Unknown Caller'. And calls from cell phones just say 'Maryland', for instance. This is really not helpful and defeats the purpose of the 'talking' part of Talking Caller ID - I still have to go to the phone to see the number.
If this issue is not a big deal to you, then this phone is a good choice. I'm returning mine ...

Although overall the set works well, we find it frustrating that the phones record and list all calls as MISSED CALLS, even though we answer them. This results in having to manually delete every call from the caller ID log in order to reset to zero. Also not very pleased with the functioning of the phones as it relates to the distance from their base. I lose signal even while within our home, and definitely when outside on our patio.

This is a compact cordless phone and answering machine. Sound clarity is good. The second handset is very useful, it gives you a phone in a room that may not have a phone jack. (The manual says you can buy several more handset and expand the phone system to 4 handsets).
There are some nice features like creating frequently called numbers on one handset and propagating it to all handsets.
The price for the features is very good.
The number of messages stored on the answering machine is not displayed; This is the only reason I did not give this phone 5 stars.
Pros: Sharp picture. Excellent price!
Cons: Not 1080p. Could use more inputs on the rear. Not enough picture adjustment options for the hardcore hdtv lover (enough for me though!).
I purchased the TH42PX80U for a few reasons: #1. Panasonic quality. They have been an industry leader in plasmas for a few years now. I have 3 friends with Panasonic plasmas (each purchased 3 years ago) and the displays look great, no problems ever reported. #2. Customer service. I have heard good things about Panasonic's customer service and their "Plasma Concierge Service" that is included really top notch. If you should ever have a problem they are promptly at your doorstep and will repair or replace asap. #3. Price. I could not believe a Panasonic 42" plasma was/is ... Read More:

Been using this camera for about a month and have taken 500-600 pictures and this camera is just great.
What I like:
The Intelligent Automatic mode gets the scene mode right 9 out of 10 times, face detection focus seems to work very well. Many scene modes to chose from, my favorite being hi-speed. Its able to take 3-4 frames a second at 2.5megapixels. The dial on top is clean and simple, the best part being 2 scene modes that I can "hot-dial" to. Image quality and color is very good on this camera. It also feels very well constructed.
What I dislike:
The camera lacks the fine tuning of manual modes, which I would have really liked. The mic is in a bad spot for video, easily covered by your finger while holding the camera. The door that ... Read More:
A lot of techno improvements have occurred since my last phone system. This was easy to set up, is very easily customized and has good sound quality. Other reviews suggested that the sound quality was tinny but we do not find it so. A few more ring options might be nice. I was pleased enough that I purchased the additional 2 handsets to bring it up to the maximum of 6 by removing an older pair. The convenience of accessing and adding memorized numbers from any handset is great, as is the ability to access the answering machine from anywhere in the house. The range is good for our 2100 sq. ft. home and the area immediately outside. Indeed, as advertised, it does not appear to interfere with my FM reception or interact with my wireless modem.
