Have I made a mistake..This is what I asked myself after parting with no small amount of hard earned for a "games machine". I really wanted a Blu-Ray player but my Son promised this would be all i need, yeah!. Well, i have never played a game in my life so i ask the question.
Okay, the answer is I'm blown away, this is the best all round piece of kit that i have ever purchased. The PS3 plays my existing DVD's with better results than my £500 Denon and the quality of Blu-Ray on my Panasonic flat screen is awsome. Looks great, oozes quality, and the wireless, internet, audio and video capabilities are second to none and i'm only just scratching the surface of this machines capabilities, oh and I just might start to play games. ... This could very well be the best video game ever made. Never before has a game shown so much character development and such a great job of storytelling - yes, it's linear, and yes it does use a lot of cut-scenes; and simply, that's why it's so darn good. The gameplay is solid but the cut-scenes make this title something far more than a game.
Hideo Kojima is the only one who truly gets it. He's the Spielberg of video-games.
I was blown away. You owe it to yourself to buy this game.

This controller is great the only differences from the sixaxis are the obvious weight difference which isnt to much of a problem feels like you have something to hold on to, if you get what i am saying. The rummble fuction is perfect too small a vibration and not over doing it. The big difference i have found with this controller is the battery life which after a week and several hours playing i havent lost a bar of battery life, unlike the sixaixs which i found i was charging up every time i wanted to play. 5/5

I have bought both games, and I have reviewed PES 2009 (look for dentistTubster). I cannot be bothered to review Fifa, but here is roughly what I think:
- There are about 3 different ways to score:
1) The through ball/lofted through ball followed by a tap of finesse shot if the keeper stays back, or a chip if he comes out.
2) The set piece option - corners, free kicks and penalties.
3) The classic PES goal - run to the byline, cut it back with the pass button and hammer it into the basically empty net whilst the keeper is still fishing about at the near post.
That is it. It is literally almost impossible to score outside the box, because you have to get the power perfect for it to go anywhere near on target, and the keepers are ... Read More:

The offline single player game is good but it is let down by the online multiplayer. I can't comment about the online co operative game as to date since the launch i have been unable to connect to any friends on PSN to find out.
There is no information from Treyarch about what is being done to fix this and there are thousands of people suffering the same problems.
Personally i will not be buying any more Treyarch products and am considering returing this game as it does not work correctly.
Please don't buy this until it has been fixed or get it for the XBox360 instead like i wish i had.

I got this game with my PS3 40GB, and I thought it was astonishing. The graphics were really good, the cars were fast(after you unlocked them), the tracks were numerous, good looking, and fun. It was a big jump from my PS2 Pro Street. However; after a while, the cars started to look a bit plasticky, and when the cars crashed into a wall or another car, they didn't break, but stayed exactly the same. I thought this for thirty pounds was good, but I thought that the PS3 had more potential. I tried a few other racing games, such as Race Driver Grid, and they were awesome. The graphics looked better, and more realistic in Grid, and really crashed when I crashed. This game is now reduced to £18 pounds, but if you're looking for a really good car racing game for your PS3, get Grid, or wait for ... Read More:

Assassin's Creed passed me by during its initial release, which was odd considering I have an interest in the Crusades and the Medieval period. When I did get to learn about it I avoided it because of the fairly negative reviews. Eventually my cousin got a hold of the game, and I felt impressed enough by the small demonstration that I brought a copy too.
While I certainly enjoyed the game, I do understand that the game's detractors do make a valid criticism of its gameplay.
It's worth covering the plot first. The game is split into two halfs. One is set in the Holy Land around AD 1191, at the height of the Third Crusade, when Altair, (the character you control) is given a task of eliminating nine elite members of the Crusader and Saracen armies, in order that his Master, Al ... After the decable that was PES2008 on the next-gen consoles, have Konami managed to get their act together for PES2009 ?
The answer is yes ... and, er, no.
It looks better, it plays better; but of course these things are relative.
PES2009 has a new 'funkier' front-end, replacing the 'Playstation 2' style of all the previous games. Sadly, it now looks like it was created by somebody who's computer skills are limited to 'Right-click, cut. Right-click, paste' and is still no match for FIFA's polished presentation.
What else - oh yes, in an homage to 'FIFA' there is a now a selection of tracks that play in the background while you while away the time editing all the non-licensed clubs and players. Maybe it's my imagination, but I do seem to hear the same ... Read More:
