Yup its a touch generation type game that some people don't like, but they can't deny its amazing Nintendo polish. The interface and menus are very VERY well thought out and the games are wide ranging and fun. If you don't like most of these games - don't get it, simple... it isn't meant for you. I do have problems playing chess though as I find it hard to visualise and plan ahead, I'm the type of person that needs the board infront of me, but that may be just how my brain works! Its a perfect pick up and play casual game and the online and multiplayer play is very good too.

This is a pretty good game, with a huge selection of different varieties of patience, all customisable according to preference, e.g. number of cards turned over at once, number of times allowed to go through pack.
One small flaw, however, is that it doesn't allow different user profiles to be set up, meaning that the stats for games played are based on all games played, by anybody. Also, the cards are, by necessity, pretty small on the screen, so if you need reading glasses, you'll have to wear them for this.
Very intuitive to play - an older relative with no video-game experience was able to pick it up and play it with no instruction. Overall, I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys either real-life or computer ... Read More:

I bought this prior to a family holiday to France. Not having any previous experience of Brain Training, I decided to go for this version rather than the original after reading other reviews, and what a joy it was. I kept the game hidden until we boarded the ferry. When I got it out, I was expecting cries of 'oh no! Not brain training - why did you get that mum??' BUT instead all were delighted, and the whole family, young and old, played it every single day of our trip, and indeed fighted over who's turn it was. I highly recommend this game if you are planning a long journey, or just want to provide your family with some educational entainment that everyone can enjoy that doesnt involve the telly.

This could have been a great game: there are four puzzles, they've been compiled well and there are several modes, allowing you to pick a certain type of puzzle or play what the game throws at you or play puzzles against the clock. Other reviewers have described the puzzles well so I'll move on to the problem.
The problem is that the game has been implemented badly: you often have to select something on the touch screen more than once before it registers that you hit it and the touch screen is often inaccurate - selecting the wrong word or the wrong square.
I wish they'd done a better job of making this game. I still think it's worth playing but it is frustrating when you spend ages trying to select the right item or get stopped ... Read More:

The questions in this game are varied and good, pretty challenging, especially when english isn`t your main-language. The only bad thing is the sound, which is really poor. I first thought is was something wrong with my DS, but now I`ve bought another game with talking in it and the sound is great...

... if you do you'll never get it back.
I have found that this game is very addictive.
It is a variation of the tetris game. Simply put you have to match 3 or more colours to remove them as the blocks push their way up from the bottom of the screen.
There are a number of different variations of the game, including multiplayer, wifi, daily training, and more.
You don't have to hold it like the brain training games you can reset the playing view of the game to play it horizontally, I did and I found it easier to use. You don't have to use the styllus either - the arrow keys and the buttons work just as well.
This is a great game and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes tetris and similar ... Read More:

...this game, as all real tetrisgames, is going to make you addicted. When I first got it I didn`t do much else the first week. I mean, you come home from work, you play tetris, you eat a cold meal for dinner(making a real dinner takes to much time when you have a new tetrisgame in your DS), you play tetris, and then... it`s suddenly past midnight and you have to go to bed...
Maybe you guys have a little more selfcontrol than I`ve got, but I wasn`t able to put it away before my personal record was so high that it took over an hour to beat it, then I lost a little interest.

I bought My Word Coach last December (2007) and played consistently every day with much enthusiasm and determination, until I got stuck at 94% Expression Potential for months. After thinking there was a glitch in the software, I contacted the company manufacturer; Ubisoft, who politely told me that I had to concentrate on getting the words right instead of focusing on getting speedy times.
Ok, so armed with this new information and I continue in the same vein of trying to achieve perfect words (which I had been doing already) coupled with speedy times and it has taken me another 3 months of non-consistent play to get to 98% Expression Potential... I am starting to get a little bored now but I will see it through the 100%

I am a primary school Head Teacher and bought this game with the intention of buying several copies for use in the classroom. I am extremely impressed as it covers many more mental maths strategies than the description suggests. My seven year old son did find it difficult to form some of the numbers correctly, but with a little practise he was getting used to it. A minor grumble is that I think the target times a little too fast for many children, but they are rewarded with Bronze, Silver of Gold medals regardless of their time. I will definitely be trying to budget for the purchase of this game for use by pupils from P3 to P7.
