Why did Hasbro choose to "whiten" Upsy Daisy? She is supposed to have brown skin. I will not buy this toy unless they change her skin color. How racist!

i think all the in the night garden storys are wonderful. i have three young children and along with my husband we watch as a family. i find their way of kissing and hugging a good way to show young children love and friendship without corrupting their minds. i would much rather see those weird characters hugging and kissing than most thing we see on childrens tv.
some people may find the repeating phrases annoying but it teaches children different sounds very much like the teletubbies did. my two year old son is disabled and has difficulty communicating but since he started to watch it he has been making more sounds and enjoys having them repeated back to him.
also the calming voice of derek jacobi makes it a little bit grown up ... Read More:

I bought these for my two year old who is a recent In The Night Garden fan. They are fantastic. Admittedly the box arrived a bit worse for wear (I am in Australia) but it still holds the books when it needs to. My daughter carries the books everywhere. Stops, sits down to read them, waves them around in one hand, lines them up to count to 6 or turns them over to complete the puzzle on the back. For a few dollars she has had hours of fun already. Highly recommend!

We have 2 little ones who both like in the night garden, one is 10 months and the other 2 1/2. They have great fun with this set acting out parts of in the night garden and making up stories. Ok, it is expensive for what you get, but then which branded toys from tv programs aren't? Our kids love this set and play with it almost every day so for the amount of fun they've had out of it then it has been a total bargain.

I bought this together with the play mat and some other Night Garden items. Its NOT overpriced (after my opinion)You cant expect to get a huuge train with buttons and lights for this price anyway.. I havent passed this one on to my daughter yet (Christmas) but I know for sure she will like it. It wouldve been even better if it was twice as big and optional to open the doors etc like you can do with the Tombliboos Bush. However, its a cute Train thats fitting the price. BUT when thats said, if Hasbro DID make a train that the characters actually can fit into (those who are to come with PlayMat World etc) - and added 20£ to the price Id rather buy that.
I do agree with some of the comments that the funny thing about this train is: Putting the ... Read More:

This Makka Pakka was bought for my 2 year old son for his Birthday and he absolutely adores it. It goes everywhere with him. It is a lovely toy and makes cute little noises aswell as a little song. The only down side is the colour of him as my sons has become quite dirty - but there is no way I can take it away from him to clean as he sleeps with him too! Massive treat for any In The Night Garden fan.

I bought all 4 books from this collection, they are perfect for youngsters.
The pages are thick card, so not so easy to rip, bend or mutilate!!!
Any drool is easily wiped clean too :o)
Good little bedtime story books, with nice story, good colours & plenty of familiar faces from the TV progrm.

This little fellow definitely deserves a review since he's been one of my all-time best buys EVER!
My 2 year old daughter has this Makka Pakka for months and months now and he's still going strong - the battery life is fantastic (I have yet to change them) and when he gets a bit dirty a quick wipe with a damp cloth or baby wipe does the trick.
We never tire of his little tunes (far better than Igglepiggle or Upsey if you ask me). He is played with everyday and carried just about everywhere. He's made a wonderful impact on my daughter, soft enough for her to take to bed too.
Well worth the money I spent (almost 20 pounds at the time)
Makka Pakka is so very underated.
If you know a little one who is interested ... Read More:

If my 9 month old sees this book she will stop playing and throw herself towards her book. If I hold it up and ask if she wants to read it she will laugh & clap her hands. The pages are study enough for her to turn them herself and they are tough enough to handle a little chomping on too. I always thought I'd read nice classic books when I had a child but this is my daughter's choice and if it gets her loving books who am I to complain?
