I am a newbie to epilating. I did some research, and thought that I would try this epilator, and I'm so happy with my choice!

I used the wipes and the beginner cap the first time, for about the first half of my first leg. I got a little frustrated at how long this was taking, so I changed to the cap with the massager either side, and zoom, I was done with minimal pain (well, no more than I was expecting). I didn't even bother using the wipes. I'm a hairy person with fast growing hair (shame) so it's nice to epilate every other weekend, and sometimes I shave just to tidy my legs up, but I've already noticed my hair growing back slower and finer.

My only regret is not buying this sooner. My wife has a Phillips sensonic which was twice the price and we were reasonably happy with however although this Braun does not come with all the extra bits (which I did not want) and does not play as many beeps as the Phillips it does however ....
+ Clean better
+ Comes with spare tooth brush head
+ Have a more stable base so it doesnt topple on thin bathroom shelves
+ and finally a 2 year guarentee extendable to 3 years if you
register with Braun.

That is good enough for me!

I bought this a fortnight ago to replace my ailing Braun Oral-B Complete, which has served a purpose for the last 8 years, however the battery is now knackered.

Firstly, let me say that the SRP of £99 is outrageous, however the current less-than- half-price offers available certainly make it both affordable, and tremendous value for money.

The amount of Tools that it comes with for different purposes make it arguably as comprehensive as a visit to the Hygienist, and not only does the job effectively and without fuss, the difference is noticable after just a week!

The reason that some people have brush heads that do not last is that they are fakes. I usually buy from Boots but bought once through Amazon. The real ones DO last 3 months or more. The fakes from Amazon lasted about 1 week. I accept that there will be genuine heads available through Amazon but the big question is: How do you tell? They are really difficult to spot even when compared side by side with a genuine one. My dentist thought she saw a slight difference in the sheen of the blue bristle part but otherwise had to agree that even an expert eye would find it difficult - the fakes are that good! The only way to tell for sure is by using one and if it only lasts 1 or 2 weeks ask for your money back.

Philips HQ8150 Philishave Speed XL Mains/Rechargeable Rotary Shaver

This Philips HQ8150 shaver is the best shave I have ever had. My face is very sensertive and has allways been sore after shaveing. I have wet and dry shaved over the years, but by far this Philips HQ8150 is the best. I get a nice close shave and no soreness.

Braun Oral-B Professional Care 9900 Triumph with SmartGuide Rechargeable Toothbrush

I am a fan of electric toothbrushes, and liked the Sonicare ones I have had in the past(ones being the operative word since they had a short battery life and were rendered useless within 12 months; also the replacement heads were SO expensive). I have been using an Oral B toothbrush for the last year and thought I would 'upgrade' when I saw this one on Amazon - it was heavily reduced.
Oh my God! This toothbrush truly is the bee's knees! The SmartGuide is most definitely NOT a gimmick but really useful. I have stuck it on my bathroom mirror and it's incredibly helpful when you're brushing your teeth.
No wonder the toothbrush itself is Oral B's cream of the crop; I have never felt my teeth so clean and gleaming. I reckon I used to brush too hard ... Read More:

The advice is that you should change your brush at least every 3 months. So while these heads might look expensive superficially, a pack of eight is going to last you up to two years.

They work a treat, too, as others have said.

The things I do for veracity: I waited about three or four weeks to grow my leg and underarm hair to do this review. I'd just used my old, basic epilator when I saw this on the newsletter, so I didn't have much to work with when it came in the post. Thank goodness it's getting colder now, so I didn't have to show off hairy legs and armpits. Anyhoo.

Before I tried out the Xpressive 7280, I'd been using my basic epilator -- no attachments, no pre-depilation wipes -- on my legs. I tweezed the hairs on my armpits weekly: once you've got a routine and you keep up with it, the fine hairs are a doddle to remove. I hardly feel them when I pull the fine hairs out. (Do it once a week, and you'll probably see what I mean.)
