The Olympus VN-2100PC digital voice recorder has a load of excellent features, and one pain. The good bits: it's simple to make and play back recordings, and to organise them in folders. The unit itself is light and small enough to fit in any pocket, so easy to take and use anywhere. It runs for ages on a pair of AAA batteries, and has plenty of recording capacity, depending on the quality of recording you choose. The bad bit? If you want to transfer the recordings somewhere else, it's a bit fiddly. First, you have to set up the "Digital Wave Player" software on your PC, then transfer the files. Sony ICFC318S Clock Radio

2 alarms, quick set mode on alarms, 3 dim settings for green led light, is good. the only down side is you'd have to learn which button to press to get the radio on, there is 4 or 5 buttons the same size just. happy enough i got this clock tho

Whether you're three or thirty three you can't help but enjoy the nonsense that is the Beano.

A great trip down memory lane for us oldies, and fun for the kids too and all for less than £4!!!! Thats the same as buying two of the comics!

Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear

There is a great skill in writing children's books that don't make adults groan when their offspring say, "Can you read this one again."
I'm pleased to say that Andy Stanton has pulled it out of the bag again.
He is one of those rare authors who has a knack of writing hilarious books that appeal to adults and children. They make the whole of our family roll around laughing. This book is no exception and there have been several altercations over whose turn it is to read it (and that is just amongst the adults).
His characters and plots are off-the-wall and we constantly repeat lines from his books including, "In the olden days," said Old Granny, "It was rubbish..."

Hits Collection

If you were born in the late 1940's to early 1950's then you will be more than familiar with Dusty Springfield. She was on TV more than most, (and we only had 3 channels), and out of the 21 tracks on here virtually every one of them was a single. It's one of those great CD's where, even if you have a lousy voice, you put it on and find yourself singing along. Dusty may have been more for Mum's and Dad's at the time, but growing up when her hits were around, I find I enjoy this album more now than ever before. Nostalgia. That's what it is. And Dusty's unique voice is better than any around today!

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (Junior Classics)

My 7 year old son loves audio books and we have lots! He likes King Arthur tales but they can often be quite difficult to read and understand. However this is read brilliantly and we have both been gripped. Admittedly I have quite often had to pause it and explain parts but it is read in chapters which gives you convenient places to recap. We have listened travelling to and from school and for 3 nights we sat in the car on the drive listening to see what happens. This is a great next step if they are getting a little to old for 'Stories for 5/6/7 year olds" audio books. It really is great. Buy it!
