Fabulous product! I am a tutor in adult education. I record learner discussions and feedback, lesson evaluations etc. I don't have to write or type them up any more since audio is valid evidence and supports the government's drive to encourage e-learning. And, it's so easy to use. Press the record button and away you go. Recordings are loud and clear with no distortion. There is no need to struggle with any included software (there was none included with mine though). I bought a 3.5mm jack male to 3.5mm jack male lead from an amazon seller for £1.40 including postage. This nifty gadget allows you to record any phone conversations - landlines and mobiles - without complications, and with excellent sound quality. I have used mine in combination with a WS-40 digital recorder for the past year and it is fantastic for phone interviews. I rave about it so often that two colleagues have purchased it based on my recommendation.

The Olympus VN-2100PC digital voice recorder has a load of excellent features, and one pain. The good bits: it's simple to make and play back recordings, and to organise them in folders. The unit itself is light and small enough to fit in any pocket, so easy to take and use anywhere. It runs for ages on a pair of AAA batteries, and has plenty of recording capacity, depending on the quality of recording you choose. The bad bit? If you want to transfer the recordings somewhere else, it's a bit fiddly. First, you have to set up the "Digital Wave Player" software on your PC, then transfer the files. Have used this for four years and cannot fault it. It is light and very easy to use. I initially thought I would be using it for work but have found it ideal for keeping a record of the birds I see on a daily basis. With three files I have had notes from meetings in one, a list of 50 birds in another and then reminders of what I have to do in the day in the third. Its smaller than a mobile phone and the batteries last a long time. With 2hrs recording time you dont need to spend more. I'd highly recommend it.

AS usual Amazon delivered before the estimated date. I've never had a dictation recording device before so I can't compare this product. I will say it is very easy to use & with the additional mic suggested on the product description page, gives a very clear recording/playback even quiet background sounds are picked up.

I got this little recorder yesterday direct from Amazon, and it's not bad. I've never used a dictaphone before in my life, so I've got nothing to compare it to, but I've got no real complaints so far.

I bought it because I needed a dictaphone for less than £30 - and fast. This was the cheapest one I could guarantee would arrive within 2 days. And so... tada!

It's easy to use. Just turn it on and hit record, basically. Everything is done in an instant, too - there are no delays with recording or deletion, so it's great for whipping out of your pocket and making a quick note on.

This is really marketed at those who want a dictaphone without tapes, and to be honest it's worth the extra cost. It's absolutely impossible to overwrite ... Read More:

This recorder has a serious design fault. It jams and gives an ERR message which can only be corrected by holding in the DISP/MENU and STOP buttons for two seconds, which results in all the material on the recorder being erased. There are numerous complaints on the Web by people who have had exactly the same problem. DON'T BUY IT!

This is the worst product I have ever used. I used it once and it has not worked since. Olympus will not do anything about it. The one time it did work, the sound quality was terrible, I could not understand a word of what i had said and I was holding the damn thing. Batteries last a whole 10 mins before being completely used up. The old mechanical ones with a little cassette work much better and are a lot cheaper.

This memory stick is excellent. It's fast, and the build quality is great. The loop on the back has stayed attached to my keys with no sign of breaking or giving up - and it's taken some punishment.
I bought mine before the P&P seemed to skyrocket, and I can understand people's criticisms now that it has. However, mine was excellent value for money, and the product itself I would highly recommend.
