VTech First Steps Baby Walker

I bought this for my (then) 12-month old niece, thinking that she would be too young to use it. Not at all! She was absolutely hooked, could not get enough and was walking before many of the kids older than her. My sister-in-law told me that lots of her little friends at Nursery were suddenly bought the same V-Tech Walker when they saw my niece walking!

My niece is now nearly 3 and yet she still loves her walker - she uses it to pretend that it's a pram and she dances around to the music. It's really quite a clever little thing, because it teaches numbers, letters and it has all these tunes. She learnt very quikcly how to get the sounds that she wanted to hear. Fisher-Price Baby Gymtastics Bounce & Spin Zebra

We bought this item for our daughter last Christmas and is a much loved toy, our daughter is almost 2 now and it still gets played with every day I am also a childminder and it is a favourite with children from 9 months to 3 years. Much more fun than the more old fashioned rocking horse and very well made, very sturdy and boy does it get some bouncing!!
I would recommend this fab toy, a perfect present and a welcome addition to any playroom!

LeapFrog Learn & Groove Bilingual Musical Table

Bought this as a present for my cousin's son's christening back at the beginning of the year. An immediate hit with not only the 1 year old being christened but also with his 3 year old sister and cousin, in fact it was a hit with the adults too!
There haven't been any problems with it, and the legs stayed once you put them on it unlike on some of the others that my friends have for their children. All in all good value with the amount of things for the kids to do and for how long it will appeal to them as well as the sturdyness in comparision to other makes.

within 24 hours our 12 month old was running across the room with this, he loves it! and within a week he walked on his own and we put it down to this toy. he progressed so quickly from the day he got it.
bargain price here too, its twice the price in all the shops.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar [Board Book]

If you love reading to your child, do not miss this book.

It is a delightful, humourous,dream-like surreal book, with a repetitive, poetic, chanting story.

It is (deservedly) a children's classic. Many reviewers here have tried to break down the different elements of this book.

What I would like to convey is the whole experience of reading the book which teaches a simple life experience to a child - which is highly spiritual, particularly the last pages where a riot of colour is the world through the eyes of a butterfly.

The story has optimism and beauty at its very core.

Annabel Karmel's New Complete Baby and Toddler Meal Planner

We simply refer to this book as 'The Food Bible'. I have used it constantly since starting to wean my daughter. She is now over one and I'm still getting my money's worth out of it. Some of the recipes have become family favourites! Simple, practical recipes which are tasty, what more could you ask. I found I picked about 5 or 6 from each age range and kept cooking batches, adapting to suit what i had in the cupboard, and to my daughters changing tastes. Good practical advice and a great starting point for weaning and cooking for a family.

Aliens Love Underpants!

My little boy got given this book for CHristmas last year and loves it so much that I could probably quote it all the way through, I've read it so often. Okay, there's not a strong story but what do you expect for a cartoon book for pre-schoolers? The rhymes are cute and the pictures are great - we love it, and so do all the kids at nursery!

Fisher-Price Magic Rattle Winnie the Pooh

I bought this for my 6 month old nephew for Christmas and it has been great.
The baby shakes the rattle and Winnie sings and dances.
Unlike a lot of toys it comes with batterys and also switches itself off if it is not played with for a few minutes. We also discovered that, if you lose the rattle, you can start Winnie by rattling keys, clapping and also burping near him!!!
Its excellent for learning becuse it didn't take long before my nephew realised that the rattle starts Winnie, although he can be a bit annoying after a couple of hours

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly (Classic Board Books with Holes)

I bought the book for a present after reading all the great reviews. Found the story rather strange. And the ending that the woman dies is odd. Maybe that's English humour I don't get. The graphics are lovely though. I bought the hardbook and there was no CD, maybe hearing the song helps to enjoy the story more.

Playtime With The Blocks

I couldn't wait to see how my little one would react to the blocks. When I gave them to him he was only about 10 months old and he was immediately in awe of them. He loved the size and the bright colours and he played with them alot. He didn't quite know what they were capable of though until I showed him. I would stack them and push the ball part on top and he'd watch in amusement. At this age, the main thing he wanted to do was knock them over or play with them one at a time.
