Official Sony PlayStation 2 Memory Card (PS2)

Ok so I HAVE had my PS2 memory card for a while now, but it has now started to act up.
A few months ago it lost all my Guitar Hero 3 data, so i had to do it again!! (not a huge problem as i love the game!) But seemed to work afterwards, thinking it was just a glitch i carried on using it but now it has failed again on GH3 and other games aswell.
I will be getting a replacement Sony card as they do last well and are better than other cards for the PS2 but be warned they can fail. (thats not to say they will though) :)

Sony Official PlayStation 2 DualShock 2 Controller (PS2)

I've tried other controllers for the PS2, and in the end there is no other controller quite like the Dualshock 2. The buttons on other controllers often require quite a conscious effort to use them, but the Dualshock 2's analogue buttons are actually analogue - press lightly and you'll get one response, press a little harder and you'll get another, and so on. The Dualshock 2 seems to last as long as any other controller and is simply better quality, so there's no real competition there.

As for the usefulness of a Dualshock 2 now that the PS3 is out - the Sixaxis controller bundled with the PS3 doesn't have rumble functionality, and a Dualshock 3 with rumble and Sixaxis tilt sensors will currently set you back quite a bit compared ... Read More:

FIFA 08 (PS2)

It simply isn't. Even though it's meant to be.

The crossing is so awful that none of the players even seem to know what the box is, they'd rather smash someone's face in when they're sitting innocently in the stand. The shooting is frequently off target. I find I'm actually more acurate shooting outside of the box than inside of it. It just seems, poor, comapred to it's PES counterpart. It appears harder to actually play...and that;s only when you can get it to play.

I have it in my collection. But It'll never let me play it. In fact, I've played one game in an hour and a half today. Officially the crashes are winning 4-1, because in that hour and a half I've had to turn the damned computer off FOUR times. Great for patient ... Read More:

LEGO Star Wars (PS2)

... More fun than it should be or could ever be expected. Great humour and it doesn't tarnish the star wars name (unless your a super-star wars movie nerd) As a star wars fan i think i can say that. This is just a really enjoyable game especially if played with a friend.

Lego: Indiana Jones (PS2)

I admit I only played it for an hour, but I soon realised that it's not what I'd been lead to believe it is. It looks good, the graphics, even on the old PS2, being really good and clear, and the controls are responsive and good, but I just didn't take to it. One thing I didn't like is that you have to do the whole level before it autosaves, as it does in this game (you can't save manually at all so can't just put it on for a quick ten minutes to kill a bit of time). I was really looking forward to playing this and after an hour was a bit disappointed. I think it is the ideal way to introduce younger children to action and role playing games though.

The Simpsons (PS2)

I only have one complaint about The Simpsons Game, the graphics, they are absolutely appauling. This is the reason I gave it 3 stars, but apart from that, this is a really good game, just be warned about the graphics.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 (PS2)

I used to love pro years ago and thought it was better than fifa by miles, i then bought fifa 06 and really got into the fifa games. Recently i bought Pro 08 just to see how it is a few years on an i got to say its very dissapointing!! At times pro can be the most infuriating game their is. For example.... once you play at normal level or higher you could have the fastest player on the game marked by the slowest, an the computers slowest will still beat you for pace!!! the referee sees fouls that are non- exsistant, all you have done is got the ball an he blows for a foul!! the players touch in the game is pathetic. still the same old master league players who are all so bad it makes playing the game on normal or higher very frustrating especially as by putting the ... Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock with Wireless Guitar Controller (PS2)

I got guitar hero 3 plus guitar for my birthday in April and I am still playing it now. The guitar has a real feel to it but is so much easier to play than a real one (until you get to expert). Anyone can pick it up, do the tutorial , then play it to their hearts content. I did not know many of the songs when I got it but a lot of them are now among my favorite tracks. The graphics on the ps2 are brilliant so the guitarist on the screen really looks like they are playing the song. If you buy two guitars you have lots of additional game options I have bought rock band now but I still play guitar hero a lot. A great game for all ages ( i am in my 40's)

Gran Turismo 4 (PS2)

this is the greatest racing simulation to date. the handling of the cars is realistic and the graphics are great. massive selection of cars will never leave you running out of cars to buy.

the races are varied and the tracks are designed very well an there are plenty of race events. with the sheer amount of race events comes the need for lots of persevierance, especially the 24 hour endurance events which take a minimum of 9 hours when using b-spec mode.

b-spec mode is a great mode to have in the game, especially if your driving skill is not up to spec or you just fancy a race on the sidelines to have a cup of tea and some biccies.

Ben 10 (PS2)

This isn't one of those huge sprawling games you will still be absorbed by one year from now. It lacks depth, complexity and game length. But it IS good solid fun and although short it feels polished and not rushed. It doesn't get ridiculously difficult towards the end (I'm looking at you scooby-doo!) and was at just the right level to keep my six year old going for a few weeks. There probably isn't a huge amount of replay value, you only get five of the Ben 10 aliens and essentially it's just a beat-em-up but it does have what a lot of games these days seem to think is beneath them - fun!
