I was given this as a leaving present, as a kind of joke, but my colleagues didn't realise I've always loved ants and really wanted one of these for ages! I wasn't disappointed. This is a well-designed product which provides hours of entertainment and fascination. I've seen all sorts of strange things going on in my Ant World: ants moving things around then back again like women designing a living room with furniture, a brutal murder when an ant I thought had escaped turned out to clearly be from outside (i.e. it was killed within minutes of entry), and interesting preferences for lunch: fruits not as popular as one might think, honey, other insects and even nuts proving popular on the menu. 20Q Version 2

I was interested in buying this and saw one out for demonstration, so i thought i'd test it out before i bought it. Lucky i did! I thought of a racoon and began the game. It began promising, asking sensible questions, then went totally off the point. It never got it in 20 questions and only got it on the 25 question, which i felt was a bit of a cheat. I tried again with something simple, but this time, it never got it. I was glad when the words "you win" came up on the screen and it turned itself off, probably because it was embarrassed! At that point, i had to leave, which i felt glad to do, and was very glad i tried it before i bought it. Dino Magic Egg

I bought this as a small 'top up' gift for my son's 6th birthday - he loves it, even though the end product is a little bit of plastic in the shape of a dinosuar that's only and inch or so long...

His two-year old sister really went wild for it too, and has kept it under her pillow all week.

So although it's nothing special as far as us adults are concerned, it has something about it that kids really go for.

It'd make a good stocking filler for Christmas.

I have to agree that this is a GREAT product and introduction to children to taking care of any future pets. Yes you do have to get spring water and yes you do have to clean the water and maintain it at a certain temperature but frankly as parents we do much crazier and complicated things for our children, so this is a no brainer. We did not get a lamp! They survived with the temperature of our house. It is true that they do eat each other and the last one left which we called STAR GIRL was huge - but we made it fun for our boys and it was a great experience for them. STAR GIRL survived for roughly the 90 days.

We will start again with some new ones..... now to think of their names!

My 9 year old enjoyed setting up the unit and finding the worms. Unfortunately, once the worms had buried themselves, we did not see them again.They didn't come up for any of the 'food' that we put in for them. 4 weeks later we tipped them out. They were all still alive, but as we never saw them it was a waste of time and money. My son was very dissapointed.

Ben 10 Puzzle (100 Pieces)

I got this as a stocking filler for my 6 year old and it was quite a difficult puzzle to put together.

First of all we couldnt get in the box without ripping all the paper and secondly the pieces are quite flimsy.

It took us a while to finish but we got there!

Bop It Extreme 2

Ok, buy it as a Christmas present for some kid if you really want to. But why not buy it for yourself? It's utterly brilliant! It's brings out the competitive side in a really fun way and is a great reflexes game that doesn't injure anyone.
Am I saying this because I beat everyone else with it? Probably.
But still you will love this, it's incredibly durable and there are different ways of playing it for those that learn or use their senses differently.
Now if only it had a mute button so you could play after the kids have gone to bed!

Silverlit PicooZ Helicopter

Helicopters are inherently difficult to fly. Silverlit has made things a lot simpler to give you hours of fun. As you might expect you cannot do all the manoeuvres a normal helicopter could do. The helicopter stays flat most of the time and turning is controlled easily but a dedicated switch on the remote.
The durability of this product is phenomenal. After many hard landings at the early stages of the learning curve it's still working and behaving like new. For the price, you might as well buy one even if you 're not a big fan of the genre.
