Halo

The gameplay is great, the game is well balanced and the range of weapons, vehicles and landscapes is wide and varied, but what really makes Halo one of the best games of all time is the amazing storyline which keeps evolving throughout the game, suddenly twisting just when you think you know what is going on. I was genuinely sad at the finale of the game, and wanted the story to continue (which eventually, of course, it did in Halo 2 and 3)

If you like the story, and want to see more of where it came from, look up the Marathon series of games on the Apple Mac from Bungie in their pre-Microsoft days. I think Marathon is now also available on XBoxLive.

Halo 3 is the best for online entertainment, brilliant fun with your friends. Only bad thing is when you play against stupid noobs that use needlers!! NOOBS!!

Xbox Console

I own an Xbox. I love my Xbox. I specifically like the fact that it can handle otherwise PC exclusive game like Half life 2 (5/5), star wars knights of the old republic (5/5) and dreamfall (5/5) right up to 2006.

The Xbox has 3 advantages over the PS2;
1) Superior hardware (can play higher-spec games) which most gamers never notice because most games are available on either platform. It also means you have slightly more options with the graphics upsacaling - again this goes unnoticed.
2) The ability to Rip CD's (VERY slowly) and use the soundtracks in SOME games. Very similar to any PC for the last 2 decades.
3) The hard drive allows for faster loading and saving than the PS2 memory cards.

Xbox Official Controller S

The Xbox controller this size is very good size. Its comfortable, its got a good rumble pack and its the best Controller for Xbox except perhaps the Wireless version. The colours and design on this COntroller is also very nice, but the Controller breaks easily. I have 4 Xbox controllers. 1 came with my Xbox and it now has the problem that the Controller things that im pressing the Right Trigger all the time. An annoying problem for games like Halo, Shooting everything accidentely. The other controller thinks im moving the right Joystick thing to the right slightly all the time (not too bad) the other one is fine actually and the last one doesnt work at all really. It keeps on saying (Please Re-Insert Controller and Press Start) ALL THE TIME. Annoying...

Gears of War (Xbox 360)

Look past the childish design of the main characters (ridiculously muscular deep-voiced male stereotypes that look like they were designed by a 13 year old boy who reads too many army comics and ought to get out more and meet some girls) and there's an outstanding game in here.
There are flaws - until you get used to it, it's hard to tell your allies apart from your enemies, the combat is repetitive - take cover, keep popping out to fire, keep an eye out for enemies flanking you while you do the same etc. - and the minimal amount of storyline and backstory you get seems such a wasted opportunity when it starts with such a good sci-fi setting, and the easiest diffifculty setting, while not excessively hard if you're an exeperienced gamer, is a bit too hard in places - considering ... Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360)

This game is so close to perfect that you might be able to ignore its few tiny flaws (the gun cover system, graphics up-close) and call it perfect anyway! This is simply the most engaging, fun, beautiful and sublime game I have ever played! The main story alone can take between 30-40 hours to complete if you really invest in it. After that you can spend hours exploring the huge city. Not to mention the online multiplayer. Everyone simply has to play this game!!

Halo 2 Multiplayer Maps (Expansion Pack) (Xbox)

Now this is a peculiar thing. You cannot doubt Halo's status as the premier Live game on the Xbox, but is this add on pack really necessary as a stand alone hard purchase? Live owners can currently download a few of these maps online for free, with the remaining maps becoming free on 28th August, so is it really worth the avid Halo fan shelling out for this online or offline? Not really. Add into this the fact that the new maps aren't available for ranked Matchmaking yet and all you're doing is essentially sticking out a wadge of cash for a bit of a sneaky preview.

So what about the offline players? Well is this really worth it for you? Do you REALLY get together a decent group of people often enough to take advantage of this? Especially considering the maps on this little compilation ... Read More:

Xbox 360 Wireless Gamepad

I've purchased the 60GB XBOX 360 today, mainly because of the exclusive games like DOA4 and HALO3 that aren't available for my PS3.

Since long ago I've been waiting to finally purchase this console and now that the RROD issue is fixed I've thought this was the right time. Actually not everything is OK, since the new controller was a major let down! This controller is a piece of cheap plastic and the d-pad is totally unreliable. The original XBOX controller S was way better than this one. There is also the huge noise that comes out of the box when a disc is inserted, and believe me when I say that it can cause a headache.

The quality of the product is very bad! Overall, regarding hardware quality, I think that the PS3 and the SIX-AXIS controller are in a much higher league. I ... Read More:

Xbox 360 Console (20 GB Hard Drive)

This badly built machine only lasted six months. I boxed it back up and returned direct to xbox which is part of their warranty. They sent the console back to me aparently repaired but I am unable to tell because they returned it without the controller, power pack, and cables and when I complained the basically said tough. I have now had to replace all items myself. DO NOT buy one of these buy a PS3!!
