I bought these for my two year old who is a recent In The Night Garden fan. They are fantastic. Admittedly the box arrived a bit worse for wear (I am in Australia) but it still holds the books when it needs to. My daughter carries the books everywhere. Stops, sits down to read them, waves them around in one hand, lines them up to count to 6 or turns them over to complete the puzzle on the back. For a few dollars she has had hours of fun already. Highly recommend!

i think all the in the night garden storys are wonderful. i have three young children and along with my husband we watch as a family. i find their way of kissing and hugging a good way to show young children love and friendship without corrupting their minds. i would much rather see those weird characters hugging and kissing than most thing we see on childrens tv.
some people may find the repeating phrases annoying but it teaches children different sounds very much like the teletubbies did. my two year old son is disabled and has difficulty communicating but since he started to watch it he has been making more sounds and enjoys having them repeated back to him.
also the calming voice of derek jacobi makes it a little bit grown up ... Read More:

My little boy got given this book for CHristmas last year and loves it so much that I could probably quote it all the way through, I've read it so often. Okay, there's not a strong story but what do you expect for a cartoon book for pre-schoolers? The rhymes are cute and the pictures are great - we love it, and so do all the kids at nursery!

I made the mistake of buying this book. As with other Gina Ford books if your child doesn't conform to her regime you feel inadequate and disappointed. She advises on day one (after they have proved they can do wee and poos on potty) to confine toddler in one room all day and repeatedly put them on the potty!! No way! I think I lasted half an hour and I got cabin fever. I found "No-cry Potty Training Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Child Say Good-bye to Diapers" by Elizabeth Pantley far more helpful and reassuring. Gina Ford does make things seem so easy, but she isn't training her own child and the whole thing can get emotional. In the Pantley book she says it can take up to 12 months before they get completly dry and with some I think it's ... Read More:

My 2 year old son and I adore this book. He requests it nightly, choosen from 2 huge shelves of books, with a smile from mummy as I don't tire of it either! The illustrations are beautifully drawn, accompanying the story perfectly. The tale rhymes nicely, although if read too quickly becomes a bit of a tongue twister which makes us both laugh. This book was originally recommended to me by a friend, and is now passed on enthusiastically to others. I would recommend the board book to even the youngest of children as the illustrations are lovely, with lots of things to point out and look for. We are just about to invest in our second copy as the original is looking a bit old and battered now! Enjoy!

This book is worth reading because it helps you see the world through your toddler's eyes and it has made me think more compassionately towards my son when his behaviour makes me want to run away! I now feel like I want to make more time for my son which is a positive feeling, especially with a new baby in the house taking up so much time. Dr Green is not at all patronising or overly directive as some parenting books are. He makes sensible suggestions based on all of his experiences and I have really felt that this guy knows what he's talking about. The book covers all aspects of parenting a toddler and I find myself nodding away to the scenarios and feelings he describes us parents having. He's got an entertaining way of writing which actually makes it quite ... Read More:

I bought this on-line and wished I had seen it first. Although the story is ok, the flaps fell off the first time it was read, it was like they had been pritt sticked on poorly. Soon all of the flaps were off, and although I tried to tape them back on, because the pages were shiny they didn't stick for long. Now all the flaps are missing and the book doesn't make any sense at all. Poor quality & yet again been suckered into buying useless merchandise. Spend your money on something else!

This has been one of our little boy's favourite few books for about a year now. He's just over 2 and 1/2 now and there is no sign of him tiring of it yet. Just wonderful.

I bought the book for a present after reading all the great reviews. Found the story rather strange. And the ending that the woman dies is odd. Maybe that's English humour I don't get. The graphics are lovely though. I bought the hardbook and there was no CD, maybe hearing the song helps to enjoy the story more.

I bought all 4 books from this collection, they are perfect for youngsters.
The pages are thick card, so not so easy to rip, bend or mutilate!!!
Any drool is easily wiped clean too :o)
Good little bedtime story books, with nice story, good colours & plenty of familiar faces from the TV progrm.
