Bought this item thinking it was 7.1Megapixel camera from items description, but it isnt!

It is: 'Upto 7.1 Mega pixels resolution upgrade function' but cant find the upgrade function anywhere with the software and item isnt even listed on pluscom website.

Looks smart, good picture but software is a little buggy!

This advert misleads people because 1- Doesn't have Built-in microphone, 2- Picture quality is very bad even not to acceptable (huge difference between its so called mega pixels as written and in its actual pixels), 3- Connection cable is not like as shown on picture. (Has been removed after my pointing out to seller)
The only good thing is very easy to install...but in over all this a very low quality camera and I would never recommend this camera to anybody, my suggestion is don't ever buy this camera it is a total loss of your money and I had to buy another webcam, this is just a rubbish to be very honest.

Compact camera which looks nice, and works well sitting on top of my laptop. The only problem I've had is that the software drivers have caused conflicts with the Nortel VPN software I use to connect to the corporate network (Eacfilt if that means anything to you). An email to Phillips got a worse-than-useless 'not our problem' response, so as a result I'm disconnecting it when connecting to the VPN. So that's not great.

The only good thing about it is the webcam works as a basic webcam.
The camera is ok when there a lot off light in the room but if it's slightly dark you can't see anything. If you're buying this for the video don't the video is very slow and the quality isn't that good.
The microphone is useless u can't hear anything. If you want to hear your voice you actually have to scream into the webcam.
I would recommend you spend a bit more money and get a better one.

Purchaed this webcam based on the various reviews -

Positives:

Small and compact
Connects neatly to the lid of the laptop
Camera pushes into the body and protects it
Comes with a carry case

Negatives:
Really is only for a laptop and this is how it is marketed
The holder for clipping on the lid is not adjustable for thicker laptop lids - may not fit bigger laptops
Quite a lot of movement fade at the higher resolutions and you cannot go above 320x240 as it becomes very bad.

Conclusion:
If you are looking for a portable webcam that you can carry about easily then in my opinion this is good value at around £40 - however it does have limitations and you would ... Read More:

...but what a lousy manual. You have to guess how to get the software download for Mac - the included disk is for PCs only. The preferences refinements are not explained, plus the manual itself is anyway too small to see the screen shots in detail. The camera picture is ok, but small, so I can't go overboard about that either.
