I bought this a while back as it states it works on mac mini. It does, but it involves downloading external drivers that take a long time to find on your own, and even then it only works on one or two programs. None of these are skype. In fact, it is so non-compatible with skype that every time \i try to make a call with it plugged in, skype crashes. I sent skype all the details of what happened, including all of the code and terminal readings generated on my computer... and after well over a month or maybe even two... they haven't figured out why it won't work.
Sounds like the cameras a waste of money to me.

I like the look of this web cam. (Finding anything that is not coloured black is like gold dust these days).

I also like the fact that you can point the camera downwards for privacy (which also turns the unit off). So many web cams don't have such a facility, or even a lens cap.

However, despite the claims of this web cam not needing drivers, it doesn't work on Windows 2000 making the unit absolutely useless to me.

It does however work in Linux (Ubuntu) although the picture quality was terrible.

This camera was fantastic, comes in a box much larger than necessary, but after investing a bit more money than usual i was pleasantly surprised at the quality, 30 frames per second and 2mpx film, with 8mpx camera. it is a fantastic product, works well with SKYPE and MSN.

After removing the packaging i just plugged it in and installed the software, the software is not necessary but you should install the latest driver software and make any updates.
