This is a nice upgrade from an integrated graphics chipset. Vista Performance information gives it a 5.5 for desktop graphics and 5.2 for games graphics. It appears to a 5W to the power draw of the machine compared to the integrated graphics chipset when working on the desktop (e.g. mostly idle).

At this point in time, I'd suggest looking into the new ATI 4000 series cards like the 4670 and 4830. I got badly burned by NVidia drivers on Vista and have not tried any of their recent hardware.

If you're a PC self builder, beware. This doesn't currently work with Vista 32 + TV pack update. Blue Screen of Death for me and other users - look on Hauppauge website forum for confirmation. Otherwise it has served me well. No real advantage over the USB stick version anyway - just bulkier. I bought mine before the stick came out. Don't know if the stick works with TV pack either...

Don't buy this card as an esata card. The rear external port is only an internal (L shaped) port and a hole in the rear plate, esata cables don't fit. Seems to work well with a WD external drive after buying an additional esata adapter plate (£5).
