I have used this system for the past two years on what you might call a "building site". It is now splattered with paint and plaster but has never once failed to deliver - although admittedly it can't quite keep pace with the angle grinder or belt sander as a backing track. I am very impressed with the quality of this little system which - as others have pointed out - is no bigger than a paper-back. It can deliver volume without distortion (within sensible limits) and good bass response albeit not quite so good at low volume. Above all it has withstood some pretty bad treatment but is as good as new. From the point of view of portability it would be hard to beat. Good product !

The Sony 5.1 speaker set is great!
i bought this a few days ago and wow do these small speaker pack a punch!
there a separate console to control the rear, center and sub woofer!
this is a extra touch that was good as you can adjust bass and make the sound even all around your room.
i give it a five star because of such a well-design but mainly the value for money you get in return, is more than amazing.
the rear speakers still need a little length put on it, but that rather minor when you have such great sound coming from it. oh and there's a second input which is just like a headphones jack, so you need a cable that has a double jack at each end. which Sony don't provide with the product.

Does anyone know if these speakers are compatible with my iPhone 3G? I know it is not listed in the compatible iPod list but from experience I know they don't always list them all.

The docking station is very compact and folds flat easily. Since purchasing it I have brought it with me on holidays in order to enjoy my own ipod music. The speakers are surprising good for their size. Overall an impressive product.

These wonderful speakers have great imaging and detail, good balance across the frequency range, and easily beat the two other pairs of similarly priced sets I have tried for listening enjoyment. I was recommended these after a detailed discussion with a PCWorld adviser. Having explained that I wanted to hear a hifi type sound, he recommended these saying he had had them set up in the stock room while and had been impressed. I took him at his word and am glad I did. I recommend these, particularly for anyone who appreciates good acoustic music.

Very good value for money, excellent quality that you would expect from Sony, if you're disappointed then I suggest there may be something wrong with your PC or your hearing!

JBL ON Stage II

Bought on holiday in states to plug into hotel... hotel already had one in room!
But love it all the same and now hardly use my computer and speakers or cd hi fi player etc....
and great to charge ready for the next day... Great sound anyway and even more so as its so small in size.
Remote appears to work through walls!
Only wish it came with batteries so's i could play it in places with no electricity and when there's a powercut here at home.

These speakers are amazing for the money. I was expecting them to be really tinny and bad, but they sound considerably better. I have tried them on my mp3 player and laptop and they sound perfect. The bass is excellent, the stereo is amazing, and the maximum volume is tremendous!

Excellent for the cheaper speakers - another great product from Sony!
