I bought this printer to replace a very old Lexmark. I couldn't be more pleased with the purchase. Easy and quick to set up - and having read reviews, I was set with a USB cable. The print quality seems excellent to me, although anything made in the 21st century had to be an improvement on it's predecessor.
Prints photos, and documents to a very high quality. So far no complaints whatsoever.

I had a Visioneer 9000, but it was incompatible with Windows Vista, so I bought the Canon. Unfortunately I have found it to be very slow. Scanning documents at 150 dpi each page takes 50 seconds. The actual scan takes 7 seconds, the remainder was waiting for it to do whatever it gets up to before the scan starts.

The Visioneer used to start scanning as soon as you pressed the button, or in other words it was a race to keep up with it when scanning multipage documents.

The software that comes with it is confusing. I ditched most of it as pretty useless in the end (Page Manager and ArcSoft Photo Manager).

Not a review just additional information that this particular unit comes with 3 year On Site warranty , and full 3 years warranty on the lamp also- unheard of on projector of this pricepoint!

I had an older Microtek scanner which was a constant frustration, and slow. I've now had the Canon 600F for about a year now, and have just ordered another for an employee.

We use Macs with OSX, and the Photoshop plug-in works very well, with good control of imaging options and settings. The results are clean and sharp for documents (we don't use it to scan transparencies at all).

FAST: To scan a full-colour A4/Letter page at 300 dpi takes only 16 seconds via USB 2.

The scanner itself is powered via the USB cable, so no ugly/confusing additional power supplies etc.

All-in-all: Terrific !

Lovely printer, good value, wifi works brilliantly.

I bought this to replace an aged 895CXi, and it hasn't disappointed in anyway. Quick, quiet, good output. Lovely to have a network printer at this price. I really can't fault it. I don't us it much for plain text - use mono laser for that - but anything mixed, or that I need in colour is dispatched really nicely. I do use inkjet paper to minimise bleed/spidering, and it's worth it.

Epson Perfection V350 Photo scanner 4800 X 9600 DPI Auto Film Loader

I bought the V350 primarily because I wanted to scan 40-year old 35mm slides. To say the results were good is an understatement. All of the slides had a strong pink tinge - a film fault (Gevacolour) similar to an over-exposure, and they have been like that since the day they were developed. The V350 comes with colour correction software, and it performed a miracle restoring the original colour to every slide. It was like seeing my past magically come back to life and in faithfully reproduced, crisp and clear colour!
At 1200dpi it took 2 mins to load,scan and save 2 slides as independent images. Now that might seem slow but the scans were 1st class. The slide holder is sturdy unlike some of the competition that use a flimsy strip you have to peel apart.

Epson Perfection 4490 Photo 3200 X 6400DPI Firewire / USB 2

Having to find a replacement for my Epson Perfection 1670 was nor easy.
After been given various recommendations I had an online chat with Emma at Epson and followed her recommendation and decided on the 4490.
As I could not uninstall some of the programs of the 1670 error messages) I presumed that I might have trouble loading the 4490. No problem - loaded first time.
Scanning mainly original watercolours for a few artists I had no problems at all. Very similar to the l670 with many more options and good colours, using Adobe photoshop 7.
Also very fast delivery from Amazon.

In April 2008 I purchased from Amazon my MX700, after reading many reviews on various websites, I was reluctant to purchase another brand having always bought HP printers. The reason behind purchasing another brand, was due to conflicts between two HP printers on my wired netwotk, which HP support could not overcome.
I certainly do not regret the choice, I have found my MX700 excellent. The initial installation needs to be done carefully following the instructions given by canon.
My MX700 is installed on my wired network, and is easily accessible from my PC and laptop.

Its not all that bad!
It does drink quite a lot of colour..
Quality is good.. I did have a slight problem in the beginning, but its quite fine now.
Good for students! Not too expensive, and its got the things you need!
I've removed 2 stars because, 1. It drinks a lot of colour
2. documents don't print that fast, unless its draft quality.
