I wanted a cheap/cheerful scanner for occasional copying of documents and this little scanner seemed perfect. Delivery was prompt and installation was easy. As with most USB devices it was important to install driver and other software before plugging in using the supplied USB cable.

Unfortunately, the only result I achieved in several hours were error messages telling me that no scanner was connected. This involved restarting the PC, uninstalling/reinstalling, unplugging and plugging in the scanner, downloading/installing updated drivers from the Canon website. Sorry Amazon, I shall shortly be obtaining a returns ticket and returning this non-functional item.

I was expecting great things from this product, but I am fairly disappointed by its performance so far. OK, I expected to have to spend some time getting to practise its use, but:

I have to scan lines quite slowly and carefully

The PC software isn't as friendly as I would like.

Overall I shall keep trying, because the device is very portable, but for scanning direct to my PC I wonder whether I would have spent the money more wisely on Speech to Text software.

I have had one of these for about 18 months and will throw it away when the toner runs out. Apart from anything else it is almost as cheap to buy a new printer as toners, so much for looking after the environment.
It should have everything going for it, it is small excellent print quality and scan ability. However it just does not feed paper.
The problems started about 3 months after I bought it when the red failure light came up and after much opening and shutting doors it usually worked. After much prompting an engineer came out he changed the "C" feed roller and said this was a known problem and the new one was much better. Indeed it did last until the warrantee ran out. For the price the printer is it is not worth paying for ... Read More:
