I so wanted to fall in love with this phone, but the damned thing is just too slow and temperamental.
Take the iWannabe touchFlo interface which is, like, really cool. For about five minutes, after which you get fed up to the back teeth waiting for it to respond. Scrolling between tabs takes an age and often freezes. Attempting to navigate webpages on the woeful Opera random-zoom browser is hell on earth - it's got a mind of its own.
I couldn't believe the phone-answering-in-the-pocket business could be true, but - yup - HTC have designed a touch sensitive screen that becomes active in your pocket and rejects precisely 100% of your incoming calls. That must be number one thing on the "we're designing a touch screen ... Read More:

This is exactly what I was looking for: a mini laptop that has a good sized screen and a useable keyboard, plus a phone. I looked at many others but I found the screens far too small and/or the keyboards too fiddly. My eyesight is not what it once was, so these are important considerations! There is nothing out there (yet) to compare with this phone in my opinion in terms of being a useable, pocketable laptop.
This is 'old' in terms of technology, so I had a bit of a struggle to get it to sync with Windows Vista and Office 2007: the XDA has Microsoft Outlook on its CD and wants to sync with that. Office 2007 doesn't have Outlook any more, but uses Windows Mail and Calendar. As it happened, I was quite happy to install Outlook on my PC (because ... Read More:

I have the T-mobile version of this item called MDA Vario but it's exactly the same product.
The main reason why I had bought this nice piece of kit was that i got fed up of carrying around 2 pieces of hardware (i had a IPaq as well as a mobile phone). I must admit I was initially concerned that it would be too large and bulky. But in actual fact, it is only slightly thicker than my PDA.
hidden in a corner is a telescopic sylus which is functional but may be too little for some people. I use my pen with the lid on which just works fine.
Weighing in at 160g it's heavier than most phones but considering how much is packed in this thing it's surprising it's not heavier. The PDA runs at about 200mhz processor speed which is ... Read More:

5 stars is for the product only. It was all I ever wanted:
* It was easy to use
* sychonisation with outlook was quick and simple
* a comprehensive user guide that was well-written so I could use all the features
* I could type in realtime and send it straight out in outlook for distribution.
Then it broke. No reason. I took it out my bag and the screen had gone. I had had it all of two weeks. I was devestated.
Suddenly all the failings of buying on-line come to the fore. The supplier pda-mobiles is running the business from cyber-space. No telephone numbner, no address, no response. Replies to email are slow, polite but with nil knowledge of consumer law or Amazon 'guarentee. WTen He claims it is not a manufacturing ... Read More:
