this headset is fantastic. deep bass,comfy (soft padding on the headset), detachable/bendy mic is a good idea. came packaged well in a big box.and was quicker than expected. as long as this headset lasts, it's fantastic and i reccomend it to anyone.

Was looking to upgrade my sound quality, but not wanting to pay any huge amount of money. After reading the reviews on this card i decided to go for it. And wow! What a great sound card for such a small price!

The one thing i do have to warn people of, if you use crappy speakers with this sounds card, the sound quality is awfull, as the card tries to send out sound quality and pitches that the speakers cant manage. Make sure you have a good sound system to go with it. The combination that Amazon recommend it s great one, and just happens to be what I have!

Definately worth buying!!

LINDY USB 2.0 to Audio Adapter

I bought this sound card as my new HP pavilion laptop seems to have a terrible microphone. No matter what i tried (including plugging an external mic into the laptop) It was either to quiet or it distorted. After trying the stores demo model with the same results i wondered if an external soundcard would fix my issue.

This Lindy audio adapter was so cheap it was worth a try and I thought if it solves the issue i'll then look for decent sound card later (no point spending out on an expensive one for an experiment i thought)

But the Lindy does all i need and the sound from the microphone and the headphones it perfect so i have decided to stick with this now.

This has been excellent for transferring music (LP, CD or cassette) from a HiFi amplifier to a laptop, as wav, wma or mp3 files. It includes software to remove tape hiss, etc and a timer to start recording. For some reason, my system only works when you use "mic" input and not "line in". Also to hear what is being recorded through the laptop speakers, you have to tick both the "Analyze" and "Hiss removal" boxes in the "Record Now" section. It does more or less the same as a Sound Card, but Sound Cards for laptops are very expensive (compared with desktop).

I am so thrilled with this sound blaster......
it was so easy to install and set up....I use it for adding effects whilst singing online and I love it......
The sound quality is superb and the effects are top quality.....
I so wish I had bought it earlier....

Griffin 9066-IMIC2 iMic - USB Audio Interface

I've had two of these devices, & they are simply not very good. I (tried to) use it for home recording on Garageband with a Mac (electric guitar or mic'ed instruments). The first iMic was erratic - sometimes it worked, sometimes I got one or several of the following problems: hideous buzzing or bleeping, latency of up to half a second or more, it sometimes even crashed my machine (& Macs rarely crash or have problems with peripherals). Eventually it fell to pieces (no, I didn't stomp on it). I thought it could be that I had just bought a dud, so I bought another - same problems. To be fair, when it works, it works fine, but who wants to spend time troubleshooting when you could be playing?

With over 400 pre-recorded tapes and 100+ bits of vinyl, I was looking for an inexpensive solution that allowed me to convert these into a digital format. I ordered this on the strength of the positive reviews I'd seen here. I'd be a liar if I said I hadn't some mild concerns about the negative reviews I'd read also. I needn't have worried - this didn't disappoint. The only minor niggle was that the instructions on how to set up your PC catered only for Vista users - I still run XP. Other than that this product does what it says on the tin. The results from tapes in particular are impressive. My only problem now is finding the time to copy them all and whether to buy an I-Pod to store it all on!

I bought this yesterday at Maplins (because they didn't have Dazzle in stock) and struggled initially to get it working. Help is practically non existent - Plug in device, insert drivers DVD, follow instructions then re-start machine. I did all this and nothing apart from a new icon in the system tray that when clicked gives you simply the option to exit! No other icons, no application, nothing.

After installing the additional software, Cyberlink PowerProducer and PowerDirector, things started to look promising. I ran powerdirector, which detects something is connected, but shows only a blank preview screen although audio comes through fine. I generally agree with ShineBella - the instructions are all wrong, check the internet. Apart from that, there were no set up problems, The driver included is quite good too. In fact, when it wants to work the sound card works well too, but at roughly £20 it is just a cheap sound card and I'm not the only one to complain here of a crackling which kicks in after a couple of hours of the sound card being in operation. Up to this point it sounds nice, but once the crackling starts all other sound is drowned out and you need to restart the computer to regain sound which is very annoying if watching a film. My verdict? Low price, low quality - a waste of money. Don't be stingy, pay the extra £15 for a Creative sound card that won't die on you.
