US to UK Plug Travel Adaptor

Does exactly what you want it to. Of course this is NOT a voltage converter, it merely changes the physical plug from US to UK. As such, the voltage on your American item needs to support the UK 240v. Please ignore the bad reviews of this product, they are from people too stupid to realize this and who plugged an American 115v product into a UK 240v socket, thus blowing fuses. This converter has no 'voltage' of its own.

If your product doesn't support 240v then you need a voltage converter, not just a socket converter.

My Zune charger supports 100v-240v, so this works just fine.

According to their customer services department, Belkin used to provide a BT to BT telephone cable with this. But they don't any more. This cable is essential because you can't buy them. All you can buy is BT to RJ11 (the little one - looks like a modem plug). BUT, if you buy an RJ11 to BT adaptor to try and fix the problem, it crosses the connections, so that doesn't work, either. The only way is to either buy a BT to RJ11 crossover cable and one adaptor. Or to buy an RJ11 to RJ11 cable and TWO adaptors.

I spent a whole afternoon trying to sort this one out. Half an hour on to Belkin tech support. 20 minutes waiting for their sales dept to deal with my call (they never did). Another ten minutes onto tech support again and then finally ... Read More:

A very well made adaptor that allows both to and from UK, Euro 2-pin, angled 2-pin, US 2-pin and, with the additional adaptor plate, to charge via a USB socket. This is a very good selling point which many others fail to address.

The main downside is the lack of any CE marking, which is not surprising as there is no earth continuity, so should not be used where you have/need an earth connection.

Mine has been recently 'condemned' by my companies PAT (Portable Appliance Test)testing contractor so must be removed from company premises.

In summary, they have made a very good adaptor but Swiss have failed to understand the need for earth connections, so have half done the design job, however it should be an easy job ... Read More:

If your laptop is overheating and cutting out or the fans are on at 100% the majority of the time I would recommend this product. After installing the latest graphics drivers for my Dell XPS M1710 and buying the game Mass Effect, my laptop suffered with frequent overheats and noisy performance from the fans running at maximum. As a temporary solution I used ice blocks underneath the laptop to provide cooling which proved rather effetive. However these were inconvenient, awkward and only delayed overheating.

To carry out maintenance on the cooling system on my laptop I used the following:

- Can of Compressed air
- Solvent to clean off old thermal compount (rubbing alcohol is fine)

45W USA to UK Voltage Converter

Been using it to charge up some electronic items I brought back from the US and it does the job fine (certainly costs a lot less than if I'd bought them over here, but that's another thing). Agree with the comments that it weighs a ton, but it's not really a problem - though can't comment on the power issues some have had as I've only been using low current devices.
