I must confess to never watching the film - the main reason I bought this game was that I have been waiting for a good free roaming beat 'em up since the Streets of Rage games on the Mega Drive. The genre has never successfully made the transition into 3D before The Warriors.
Intitially, I was slightly underwhelmed by this game. The opening training mission was great for introducing the controls (which are very good) and characters but the second proper mission is far too long, drawn out and boring. After that's done the game really picks up and is so hard to put down.
The sheer variety of gameplay and objectives on offer is impressive - it's not just mindless fighting from start to finish. You may have to cause ... Read More:

I mean that whilst the game is indeed very good the fact you can be good or evil doesn't make one jot to the game, you're good everyone cheers and gives you respect, you're bad everyone jeers you a bit, does it affect the game?NO!,you don't get attacked on sight for being evil, prices aren't cheaper if you're good, places aren't inaccessible being one or the other,There was mention at the time about how you could damage a tree and some years later the damage will still be there, same thing applied to scars etc..,can you? NO!,overall a very good game but doesn't deserve all it's praise.

You'd expect a RPG from EA based on a film of a book to be a complete cash in but oddly it isn't,(I have the 'action'game Two Towers and really haven't bothered with it),granted The Third Age doesn't stray from RPG norms, turn based battles, equipment.levelling up,overdrives(perfect mode)etc..but what it does it does well, the graphics are nice, especially the Balrog, the music and sound effects are convincing, you don't play the named characters but 'supporting' characters, it's like playing Kyle Katarn in the Jedi Knight game and not Luke or Han,ultimately who cares?,my only gripe is the hundred or so movie extracts, wading through them is a chore if you've seen the films,
I'm not a massive fan of the Peter Jackson films,I found them a bit bloated ... Read More:

It's the game that football fans wait all year for, and it doesn't dissapoint. It really immerses you in the game, to make you feel as if you really are out on the pitch.
Perhaps the only problem for seasoned players of fifa is that the only way to unlock the top level of difficulty is to win every game in a season of Manager Mode, which I myself sometimes just can't be bothered to do!
But you've probably got a lot more staying power than me.
All in all this is definitely a great game, beaten only in quality by fifa 08.

Buyers should be aware that this version is rather more gruesome than its predecessors. Scenes of blood splattered walls may not be to the taste of those wishing for a plain fun shoot-'em-up!

I'm not a serious gamer, I don't really have the TIME to be a serious gamer, not enough time to master every single control technique. I like to be able to pick up the controller and have a decent game of football.
PES 5 is a really fun game, but I get the feeling it could have been so much better. Its great fun to play, looks great and flows along at a good pace. Its also great fun with two players but its a different story against the AI.
Long balls don't work, neither do through balls, the opposition has a sixth sense that tells them exaclty where the ball will go. Its impossible to score from free kicks, nearly all my shots seem to be blocked by the defender and why is it that every tackle results in a free kick to the ... Read More:

Nothing else but great. I laughed out loud at some of the cutscenes...eg. a load of lego workmen spinning around on chairs when Darth inspects the Death Star. The graphics are excellent and the whole package works well. Not just for kids.

Ok, so I'm not officially a Splinter Cell hater. Heck, I picked up CT recently and I'm really enjoying it.
There are a few main problems I have with this game. Firstly, you have all these "fantastic" stealth moves that *should* give you a lot of freedom with how you tackle missions. The problem is, the use of these moves is always in a horribly contrived setting. That is, you'll only be able to use a particular move if it was designed to be used at that specific point in the game. You're not free to choose these moves, you can only do them when available.
But that wouldn't be a huge problem, were it not for the following issue. This game is prone to punishing bouts of trial-and-error. I don't like to have to replay the same segment ... Read More:

seen all the films got the comics had the t-shirt. long time batman fan and always went for the darker more disturbed side of the comic books. this is why i bought the game, because the film edged closer to that side and away from the rubbish that preceded it. yes the visuals are dark and sometimes realistic if a bit rushed in places, sloppy bitmapping. the sound is the best thing in the game. on to the playability. their isnt any. you are literally told what to do and where to go all the way through. nice. if you dont like freedom of choice in your games. rant over. its ok for kiddies i suppose or if you really need a batfix.

overrated. yes the graphics are quite good... but it gets sooooo boring! in my opinion, timesplitters FP will allways be the best shooter.
