I admit I only played it for an hour, but I soon realised that it's not what I'd been lead to believe it is. It looks good, the graphics, even on the old PS2, being really good and clear, and the controls are responsive and good, but I just didn't take to it. One thing I didn't like is that you have to do the whole level before it autosaves, as it does in this game (you can't save manually at all so can't just put it on for a quick ten minutes to kill a bit of time). I was really looking forward to playing this and after an hour was a bit disappointed. I think it is the ideal way to introduce younger children to action and role playing games though.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PS2)

san andreas is one of the best gta's in the series. the game has amazing graphics although it wont work on the old ps2 on the new one the graphic are quick and smooth and dont slow down during gameplay. In sanandreas the costomisation of your character is incredible as you get him to have a hair cut, buy shoes and clothes, get a tatoo. You are even able to customise cars with hydrolics and nitros. I dont think that the authers of the one star reviews have actually played the game. Buy sanandreas and you wont be disapointed at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game, even the parts that I couldn't do, and had to succumb to asking for my husband's help..e.g. controlling the altheometer!!
It is a little different from the film, but who cares? Good entertainment value, andthe mini challenges are fun!
Look forward to the sequel.

This is another great addition to the singstar series and has a great selection of tracks, as listed by another reveiwer. There has to be a song for every one here young and old.
I'd only wish they would update the format as the menu's and the game modes are still the regulars with no addtions. All in all good fun!

ok so i played a few matches in exhibition before hitting story mode, controls are straightforward, no multiple button fiddling as with smackdown vs raw, that said, the computer tends to reverse charatcer specific moves all the time, no option to turn this off, can get quite annoying especially when you have battered your opponent.

this game is definitely a button basher, found that its more effective to punch n kick strongly then keep trying to pull of slightly more skilled moves, even on easy the computer is fairly relentless with you, good difficulty, does make winning a match more satisfying.

story mode is silly but fun stuff, only a few matches in tho.

Okay seriously the bad reviews shouldn't be gone by! This game is a fun, simulation styled track race game. Its track racing for the modified car crews out there.

Basics are I got this way before Juiced 2 HIN so immediately fell in love with its STRANGE gameplay. When I got used to it tho, it rocked! Its more of a simulation, the controls are DIFFERENT, and there's a lot of depth into the game.

Another review moaned that it didn't explain what 'changing the cam settings' did, but engine tinkering is all part of the fun if you want to try it. Just randomly try things out and test drive your car to see if it works for you and if not.. go back to basics!

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (PS2)

I was a huge fan of the original Mercenaries, and had big hopes for this sequel. When I heard it was coming out on PS2, I was delighted.

However, this is a big letdown. If anyone remembers the cheap and nasty ports of PC games onto consoles in the late 90s and early 2000s (Carmageddon, Doom, Quake and so on...) you'll remember 'the fog'. It's a horrible shortcut for when developers are having problems with draw distance - everything above close range disappears into a thick fog, meaning that enemies can be shooting at you, yet you can't see them. Vehicles and buildings will suddenly appear out of the middle distance, leaving you with next to no time to react. This is how the PS2 version feels. i have most of the singstar games, and out of all of them, this was probably my favourite...even though I'm 13 and wasn't even born in the eighties! i know most of the songs, as they are the sort of songs that are often played in movies, at discos, played in my house etc. Some of the most well known include Tainted Love, Eye of The Tiger, Atomic, Wake Me Up (before you go-go)... you can play with friends or by yourself, meaning there is nowhere to hide! So come on, buy Singstar 80s and get singing!
