Resident Evil sparked a new genre of video-games, spawning several sequels and rival horror games such as the "Silent Hill" series.
If you have played any of the Resident Evil games, you owe it to yourself to find out where it all started. For such a cheap price, it is worth owning a game that pretty much sealed the success of the Playstation back in 1996.
Why you should buy this game:
* A classic game that will soon be lost forever (with an upcoming re-make being created for the Gamecube to be released in 2002)
* It's worth the money if you're willing to put the now horrible graphics and acting aside.
* It taxes the brain and features some alright action scenes.

what a game. single player mode is tricky and perplexing but 2 player is what this game is all about - trying to outsmart and out think your opponent. incredible game, the holy hand grenade is the most super weapon in any game ever invented!!

I purchased a copy of the game for £20 as I love Ice Hockey and found NHL 2K7 to be fantastic. However I found the controls a nightmare totally changed to 2K7 and a lot harder to get to grips with and making it virtually impossible to score! They have added to faceoffs with a more realistic simulation that means you loose them virtually the whole time, added new items to franchise mode which I found to be totally pointless and added superstar moves that look good but don't get you anywhere at all! All in all a fun but very difficult game to get to grips with!
I admit GoldenEye was done for the much more powerful N64 but the Playstation was capable of some great games like Metal Gear Solid. In some ways it's like Metal Gear in the way you are working for the government against international villains (of course) and are thus advised to use stealth as much as possible. Theres also some nice women and gadgets too.
That's about as much this game has in common with Metal Gear though sadly game-play wise. Graphics are appalling at times whilst mediocre at others, there are graphical bugs galore and the A.I. is pathetically poor. Some bad guys blow themselves up when they should be aiming at you! Controlling bonds car in one level isn't great either and it looks like a shoe box but then maybe ... Read More:

This is still the greatest spidey game ever created, even with the free-roaming graphically better games based on the three movies. This game is more closely based on the comics than the movies than any other adaptation and makes the perfect game for any fan of the comics.
The controls are really easy to get to grips with, you'll be swinging from roof-toop to roof-top, beating up bad guys and doing some of that good'ol trademark wallcrawling you hear so much about in no time at all. The storyline is a real mystery/thriller involving spidey being framed, some of his worst enemies teaming up in a vast conspiracy, venom kidnapping mary-jane and a symbiote invasion of new york. If that wasn't good enough you've also got some fantastic level design varying ... Read More:
What can I say? This is a fantastic game, I am absolutely addicted. First played it on holiday in Greece in an arcade. The game play is simple, but once you start playing you can't stop. There are lots of different ways to play; puzzle, one player, two player and so on. Buy it!

If you're a Final Fantasy fan, then by all means get Final Fantasy Anthology. These two Final Fantasy games are much better than the first two, with more interesting characters and storylines, though I feel that the crystals ruin the games; there's the dark knight Golbez attempting to get his hands on the crystals in Final Fantasy IV and the crystals shattering in Final Fantasy V.
Final Fantasy IV
This one is perhaps the hardest Final Fantasy to beat (this or Final Fantasy VIII. Final Fantasy VIII gets hard at the end, where this has constant boss fights, in which half of them are hard to beat, and when I say they're hard, I do mean HARD).
This one is the one that introduces the ATB (Active Time Battle) system. I heard ... Read More:

The original fear effect was a game that when i bought it i was not too happy with. The game itself was pretty good but there were some major problems like the bosses being absurdly difficult, and the punishments for death being an exasperating loading time. I was wary with the sequel but on hearing news of it's improvement i bought myself a copy. It is not a purchase i regret. The game is absolutely fantastic. the controls are perfect, allowing you to really get to grips with your character. The game packs excitement, perfectly balanced with puzzle solving in an enthralling adventure. The plot is superb, following three parties as they come together mid way through and then get lost in a web of deceit, with deadly viruses, evil-spirits, gun toting monsters, back ... Read More:

Normally when you purchase a sequel, you end up with something inferior or so different that it doesn't 'feel' like the game you know and love.
Well, this game does something strange...it's very different, but GOOD different! It's more realistic than the first one (well, barring the odd yeti etc.), but just as gripping and playable.
There are more human enemies in this, and you have to really look to find the secrets, but that makes it more fun! Some of the puzzles seem too hard at first, but then you just get a greater sense of achievement when you work them out!
Please don't use a walkthrough the first time around...it's so much better to figure everything out yourself!
I always tend to panic a bit when Lara's under water, ... Read More:
