I prefer the strategy-builder games like SimCity and Civilisation, and so I get a lot of fun from this version. You basically get to be God (in fact the mayor) and you start building your ideal community. Naturally it takes a bit of skill to find a viable combination of key elements (e.g. housing, industry and commerce) otherwise your community just goes bankrupt and dies away. I tend to enjoy just playing the early periods, and the next time I just start all over again. I love trying out different approaches to positioning housing and commerce together and putting industry in isolated areas, but I think the key is to optimise planning (and in particular commuting time) for the period in which you find yourself, and not to be afraid to change ... Despite this game being quite a few years old now it still the best in the series. Each time I play this game it never fails to entertain. The atomsphere is dark and heavy. Not forgetting the awsome soundtrack that oozes fear. A town full of fog, snow and monsters set this game apart from other 'survival horror' games. The characters are well developed and there is a pleasent depth to the plot of silent hill, which falls into place nicely at the end of the game. With five endings to play for this is a game worth playing again. A well deserved five stars.

If you read the review below you'll see i'm not the only person who still enjoys playing Banjo Kazooie even now nearly 10 years after is release on the N64! What a wonderful master stroke of pure gaming fun from Rare (who at the time were partners with Nintendo).
From the moment the music starts you know you're in for a whole lot of fun! What I really love about BK is the sense of getting 'lost in the game'! Quite often i've still been playing it at 2 in the morning without realising the time and then waking up to the fact that i'm not really flying round Freezezey Peak or dive-bombing snowmen in Click Clock Wood!! Back to the game though, the controls are spot on. The music is genius. The gameplay is amazing and the actual atmosphere of the game is just ... Read More:

This game, as a platformer has a simple yet addictive goal. Recue all the mudokons (green aliens with hippy ponytails and emotional as cheese which is very emotional) by chanting by a ring of birds and creating a portal back to...where do they live?

What is the best thing about this game is the power possesion. By chanting he can posess a variety of creatures and even your own farts.

If your a sadistic person you can kill as many mudokons (and the rest) as long as you can progress. One of my favourite deaths has to be leading about five mudokuns with a running start and suddenly stopping while they all fall into a hole filled with guillotines and fleeches (leech body, crocodile mouth). And even the basic kills of slapping them to death ... Read More:

Right well I'm almost 17 and I still think Rayman is one of the best games ever made. The "double-figure" thing is absolute garbage. Obviously doesn't appreciate the classics, which are and always will be.. the best games. A must buy game for any serious gamer!

Resident Evil 2 (PS)

Resident Evil 2 is so good that I recently played through it three times in one sitting (one of the few benefits of unemployment is the abundance of free time). From the opening FMVs and that first awesome section dashing through Raccoon City ("the next thing I knew, the entire city was infested with zombies") through to the Police Headquarters, cavernous sewers and the then-traditional laboratory-set ending, this game exudes quality through and through.

While some were put off by it, the Resident Evil control system was in my mind perfect, and only improved upon in Resident Evil 4 (which much of contemporary gaming owes A LOT to). The soundtrack is incredible, with each and every scene scored with the perfect blend of atmosphere and action, or whichever ... Read More:

This is a excellent educational tool for preschoolers and adults wishing to hone their vocabulary - and a great TV-alternative.

Words have to be recognized and formed from a wall of letters that get refreshed as you progress. Target-words offer extra points whereas, repeatedly forming easy small words is "punished" with the appearance of burning letter-tiles that, if let to reach the bottom, end the game.

This is a perfect example of what has come to be known as Casual Gaming. It would be a good idea to download the 60-min trial version from a site, such as REFLEXIVE (you can Google it), and decide for yourself whether this is indeed your cup of tea.

Anybody can make a good game that will run only on a super-computer. This is an example of pure ... Read More:
