If you're after excitement, the Sims games are not for you. But then you would probably be playing on an Xbox or PSP rather than a GBA anyway! As the title says, I think this game is great value. What with the price of GBA games coming down, I got this for around £15, and it provides many, MANY hours of gameplay. My favourite thing about this game is that you can pick it up, play a bit, and save at any point. Being a student (and someone who therefore shouldn't be wasting time playing games!), I don't have time to play games where I can't save until I've completed a long level. With this game, you are given little tasks to do by other Sims, which don't take long. Or you can work towards the larger tasks, such as saving up Simoleons to buy something, ... Read More:

I was rather dissapointed with the "Super Mario Advance" games. For those who dont know, they are ports of Super Mario All-Stars on the SNES. Super Mario All-Stars was a collection of Super Mario Bros 1-3 which was on the NES (before the SNES) with enhanced graphics. There was also the second version that had all the Super Mario Bros games AND Super Mario World, a game developed for the SNES launch.

However, Nintendo have now put all the Mario Bros series on different cartridges for the Game Boy Advance, meaning those who have not played the SNES game will have to pay more.

Just to let them be in the know, the first Super Mario Advance was Super Mario Bros 2. The 2nd was Super Mario World. The 3rd was Super Mario World 2 (Yoshis Island), and ... Read More:

Broken Sword

I was dubious about an adventure game on the gameboy. Don't they belong on PC's where you have keyboards and mice and things? obviously not!. This was the start (for me) of a long love affair with the Broken Sword games - until the one on the xbox that made me motion sick (but thats another story!). It works really well on the small screen and kept me absorbed for hours...yes hours not days as sadly it was over much too soon. But it was worth every second. A great little game, nice story, controls work well but sometimes make things a little too easy (on a PC you might have to click around on EVERYTHING on the screen to find the item you can use whereas on the GBA it was a bit easier as there were less items you could interact with). Obviously i am writing this retrospectively ... Read More:

This should be an essential game for your Gameboy, but more appreciated by those who played it during their childhood, like me. It poses some fantastic challenges and very cleverly worked enemy placements, so that when you go to jump somewhere, their will always be something in your way! Such little challenges appear in and out, but the real sense of achievement is at World 8-1, the last world.

For those who suggest you cannot save/continue, they obviously haven't been playing long enough to remember 2 old cheats :)

On the title screen, hold down 'B' and press Start. Bob's your Uncle, it magically starts off from the beginning of the last world you were in! (ie 4-1, 6-1)

If you don't want to use this, use the Warp Cheat - on World 1-2, ... Read More:

For a gameboy game, this is simply fantastic, probably the best I've played! Similar to the playstation version, just transfered to GBA, so of course the graphics suffer, but they are still good for GBA. Simple to pick-up and play, but the later levels are challenging, so you get your money's worth!
I cannot recommend this enough, and the best bit is that you can get it now for a few quid! Buy it!
