As many will already know before purchasing this latest Doom opus, the graphics are quite impressive. Yet as most avid gamers will declare, it is the gameplay that truly matters most and to be brutally honest, I found this game to be lacking in many aspects...
An unoriginal plot with concepts snatched from various films and games, what kept me playing until the dissapointing end was merely the hope that things would get better, or even progress at all! Under the veil of nice graphics and impressive lighting effects one cannot help but see the game as a blatant rip-off with its Resident Evil suspense, carbon-copy of Half-life's storyline (if only a little fuzzy around the edges) and a vaguely interesting 'messaging' system where ... I got this game after a pal recommended it to me, i THOUGHT it was going to be great. As soon as i had struggled past the dodgey menus i was greeted by poor screen-clips, blocky graphics and jerky controls (halo-style except 3rd person and a lightsaber... turns out terribley). but then again, i only bought it recently and it was bound to be dated by then. It was not totaly awful so i think 2 stars is about fair.

Video games are a case of horses for courses. Sophisticated teens won't find much to thrill them in this simplistic arcade-style game aimed, I should say, at 10 year olds. However, the combo moves are simple enough for a savvy youngster to master and the characters' movement is arcade-style, moving in two dimensions through a three-dimensional world.
A storyline involving the evil Lord Zedd and a plot to destroy the timeline - and every Power Ranger with it - enables all the heroes from the TV series' history to make an appearance. There's plenty of fisticuffs and cool martial arts stuff, but it does take a lot of slogging through some very similar challenges on successive levels before anything genuinely new and interesting happens. For this reason, ... Read More:
Released nearly 10 years ago, Oddworld:Abe's Oddessy remains the best platformer i have ever played. Combining great gameplay and stunning graphics (for the time) with a diverse and fully interactive world. I advise this for any gamer, especially someone dissapointed with newly released inadequate games.

This was the first game I bought with my GBA. It is the most repetitive game I have ever played. You'd probably never finish it because you'd have died of boredom before you got half way through.
The graphics are reasonable for an early GBA game but that doesn't make up for the game itself. On each level you do exactly the same thing you did on the last level, mainly walking around looking for map pieces and avoiding the yellow-suited guys who knock your health down slightly if you bump into them. Not hard to complete the levels considering you can see where you're supposed to be going on the map.

im not sure which game the other reviewers were playing cos this game rocks! the characters are well drawn and the animation is just like the cartoon, the moves are tricky but once youve got the hang of them they are easy to perform.
Top Game!
This game, as a platformer has a simple yet addictive goal. Recue all the mudokons (green aliens with hippy ponytails and emotional as cheese which is very emotional) by chanting by a ring of birds and creating a portal back to...where do they live?
What is the best thing about this game is the power possesion. By chanting he can posess a variety of creatures and even your own farts.
If your a sadistic person you can kill as many mudokons (and the rest) as long as you can progress. One of my favourite deaths has to be leading about five mudokuns with a running start and suddenly stopping while they all fall into a hole filled with guillotines and fleeches (leech body, crocodile mouth). And even the basic kills of slapping them to death is very satisfying. ... Read More:

Whilst not my daughter's favourite game ever, this is a nicely organised game for girls who love the 12 Dancing princesses story. Much of it is platform based play and has a steady stream of challenges and obstacles to overcome. The characters are all recognisable from the movie and the soundtrack is bearable - just!. We did end up resorting to a cheats webpage after tears and frustration on one level that neither parent or child could work out how to get past it (although I admit I was not trying for that long!) The use of level codes does help you access different points in the game which is handy. The save game points are well thought through - an issue which needs addressing for so many nintendo games.
If you are buying this as a princess/girl's game, check out some of the ... Read More:
