Gran Turismo 4 (PS2)

this is the greatest racing simulation to date. the handling of the cars is realistic and the graphics are great. massive selection of cars will never leave you running out of cars to buy.

the races are varied and the tracks are designed very well an there are plenty of race events. with the sheer amount of race events comes the need for lots of persevierance, especially the 24 hour endurance events which take a minimum of 9 hours when using b-spec mode.

b-spec mode is a great mode to have in the game, especially if your driving skill is not up to spec or you just fancy a race on the sidelines to have a cup of tea and some biccies.

Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception (PSP)

This surely deserves a 5/5 simply for the lack of other flying games on the PSP, but also in it's own right. I played Ace Combat games on the PS years ago, and this didn't fail to meet up to my high expectations. Sure there are a few annoying things about it, but overall it is simply supreb! The controls are a sinch to master fairly quickly, and the graphics are more than decent all the way, with next to no slow down - except where there are dozens of ground targets all huddled together (but then that can be a blessing in disguise). I'm not one to be fussed about the story-line (I just want the instant flying-action gratification I guess), but even that is ok, and it excels in the fact that you can choose different mission paths to victory. Folklore (PS3)

I would recommend this to anyone with a PS3 (only good game I have for PS3 at present).

I found myself befoming hooked on this game quite easily. The story line is fresh, and playing as two separate characters to fill in the blanks - I find interesting. The gameplay is easy enough to allow you to jump straight in, and not put you off, although not so easy as to bore you.

Only thing letting it down is my ability as a gamer.

Everybody's Golf World Tour (PS3)

If your a fan of arcade titles or fun multiplayer titles, then this game NEEDS to be in your collection.

An excellent masterpiece of an arcade game, basicaly ticks all the boxes, the graphics are exactly what you'd expect, they are cartoony and unrealistic.. just like the gameplay (that isnt a bad thing).

The gameplay itself is just easy to learn, basically, it's just a press X at the right time affair, this isn't a bad thing, as I don't want aload of extensive golf knowledge just to play this. If I wanted to do that, i'd probably pick up a PGA Tour game or whatever they are these days.

This game really shines in multiplayer, it's pretty much born for it, either way, if your not a fan of Golf, you might actually end up enjoying this game.

24 the Game (PS2)

This is a great game.

I am a fan of the series and i managed to get hold of this. It is brilliant.

Its not just about shooting etc, there are a variety of tasks that takes different skills to complete. Ok, some may be quite easy, others will take a couple of efforts.

Great graphics, all the actors voices, fun extras, great playability.

2 bad points.
1) the driving parts, the cars were not that great to handle - could be better - but as this is only a small part of the game it can be negligible.
2) i wish there were more levels, or a free roaming aspect, where you could play as Jack or someone else to undertake various tasks when you felt like it - this would make this game awesome!!!

This is a great game.

I am a fan of the series and i managed to get hold of this. It is brilliant.

The Getaway: Black Monday (PS2)

The main selling point of The Getaway series - the photo realistic representation of London - is also it's main weakness. You see, the developers; Team Soho have invested thousands of man hours and huge amounts of Sony's money in creating this digital London, all with the correct shop signs etc etc, and so they are going to try and milk their little cash cow for as long as possible.

You would assume this would not be a problem for us consumers, HOWEVER, Team Soho's beautiful looking and seemingly ingenious cash cow is seriously flawed in that it is based upon a concept that was fresh in 1997 - with the the "Driver" series of games. Crash Bandicoot 3 - Platinum (PS)

As the title says, it's the least enjoyable of the PSone Crash games although thats nothing to be ashamed of and it still clearly warrants a 5 star rating. The Wumpa Bazooka is a great idea, the Motorcycle levels however are not. This is the easiest Crash (except the stupid Motorcycle) levels, but it still has longevity and is definitely worth purchasing if you haven't played it before. Naughty Dog just don't fail to disappoint.
