This is just as good as the first FEAR game. The graphics are excellent although quite dark, but this just adds to the suspense.
Unlike the first game, there are two campaigns which is great.
It still does not allow manual saving, so you have to reach a check point - that's my only gripe so far!!!

Well where do I start?
Well I could start off by telling you how much of a frustratingly addictive game this is, when you 1st start playing, you look at all the galaxies that are available to you, and think to yourself, this is gonna be a breeze, well guess what, it aint.
Without going into too much detail, and if you aint a PGR fan and haven't seen this game before, it is a sort of play on 80's games like Asteroids and Robotron, i.e a space ship that fires and moves in a full 360 deg. on a grid. You basically have to blast away at everything, and collect GEOMS, which are the Galactic currency.
With the Geoms, you can upgrade your drone ship which helps you in your quest, or you can unlock other Galaxies.
What I find ... Read More:

Basically this game is different. In the early PS1 games spyro was for small kids, who want little fighting and loads of collecting. The makers soon realized this is not what most of the 7+ people wanted and changed it. after many sequels they came up with the best and most balanced game; A heros tail. That was my favourite because it was very well balanced and did not have a set path for you to follow, it had some collecting and some fighting which balanced out and made a very enjoyable game.
With Eternal night the scales have switched sides from too much collecting to too much fighting. The graphics have much improved and the characters tweaked i mean they have RUINED SPARKS! its hard to explain but he aint' what he used to be! but ... Read More:

Having played, and loved, Spyro: Shadow Legacy I really wanted to play one of the other titles. I wish I hadn't bothered. For a start I didn't know what was happening in the story since it seemed to follow on from something that had previously happened. Secondly, I've only played a few levels so far but I'm already bored. In Shadow Legacy there were different things to do (eg. exploring, fighting, using different powers and carrying out tasks) but The Eternal Night only seems to have one real mode (walking around and occasionally killing things) and no purpose.
I hadn't played any Spyro before Shadow Legacy so maybe The Eternal Night is more like the originals. But having played that first I feel like this one is a huge step backwards and a real ... Read More:

A nice next-gen (well, last gen by now, but never mind) update of the classic Crash Bandicoot series. This instalment is more of the same - cute, brightly coloured, harmless platforming fun. You can pick this game up very cheaply nowadays, and you can't really go wrong.
Pros: Fun for both children and adults, good graphics, large variety of levels.
Cons: Dodgy voice acting (though it is a cartoon I suppose), long loading times.

I bought this game about 6 months ago, with the feeling that I was settling for second best. I hadn't read a single review, and after reading the description of it on Amazon, it sounded like a game based on a gimmick. But at the time I was a bit starved for FPS games, so I thought, what the hell? I kid you not, this game deserves to be bought. I won't go into the plot (see above), so the games physics will have to suffice. The suit you wear has 3 modes. The first has been done to death, matrix bullet-time style. But, and I love this, the world around you slows down. You do not. That means you can kill Krone's guards at your leisure. It only lasts about 10 seconds though, so aim sharp. Mode 2 is a complete stoppage of time. This one lasts about 4 seconds, ... Read More:

All I can say is I enjoyed this far more than Half-Life 2. It has a lot more 'whizz-bang'. That's my main recommendation. It has the same physics engine and graphics, and so looks brilliant. All the objects roll and splinter realistically and the guns are all good 'n loud. The levels are varied and atmospheric. The gameplay is part Half-Life, part Halo - the very cool Timeshifting gizmo adds a little 'superhero' touch to things. All in all Timeshift is an excellent game that has more sheer FPS fun under its bonnet than many others, IMHO.

Real time strategy as you fight WW3 in the mid 1980s.
If you saw the film Red Dawn, this is the kind of thing you see here, Russians invading the US mainland and you control a variety of troops to try to hold back the red hoard. You play the part of a lieutenant undertaking a number of missions, very similar to Company Of Heroes but with more modern weapons. Mainly you control ground troops, but there is one chapter where you command helicopters fighting above New York and the Statue of Liberty.
Playing the single player campaign at normal level, I really enjoyed this. There is no base or structure building, this is about using your resources wisely, along with re-enforcements and artillery. The story jumps about a little, the US, Russia and Europe all feature ... Read More:

For me, this game is the ultimate retro old school shoot em up made in heaven, it is intensely satisfying to play and is insanely addictive. Like Asteroids, Tempest and Robotron, but ten times better than both put together, there is also a massive amount of different levels and high scores to achieve, along with a retro revival mode. If you liked playing Tempest/Robotron/Asteroids/Defender/Space Invaders at the arcades, then buy this game now. Top game.
