Smugglers Run 2

I didn't actually get too far with this game... the theme was promising, it looked the part & sounded the part and so made the initial 'definitive' collection. however on playing I found a different experience awaiting. I have thus lent it out to someone & needless to say - not in any particular hurry to have it returned!

I understand that smuggler's run 1 was a Playstation classic - and at the time it probably was. however its follow up would seem not to be overly impressive, from my perspective in its stand alone game rights. The game missions were very linear. Start, see a glowing circle. drive towards it, hit it. next level. Grand Theft Auto Collectors' Edition - GTA, GTA II, GTA London

I went back to playing the original GTA and GTA London after completing Vice City just for a laugh to remind myself of what the originals were like. Once you get used to the ‘old Skool’ blocky graphics again you soon realise just how good these games actually were and begin to appreciate that without these there probably would not have been the groundbreaking GTA III, Vice City or forthcoming San Andreas. The game play is as totally addictive as the later titles and you could argue that the ‘top down’ birdseye view of the car chases is actually just as good as the later 3D games. Midnight Club II (Xbox)

This games is quite hard but very rewarding once you have completed it. I have a short attenion span and expect games to be high standards, this is a high standard game. The races are good and every time you win a race you get a new car. It is very fun cruising around the cities and doing jumps also the cars are amazingly hot.

Red Dead Revolver forever.I mean come on,this game has everything a wild west game needs.Cowboys,bandits,6 or 7 different types of revolvers,dynamite,rifles,horse rides.This is wild west content and Red Dead Revolver has it all!3rd Person view makes it cool,stunning graphics,great background graphics, everything!!If you like western movies (especially the Clint Eastwood ones) this is a game to round off your collection.Buy it,BUY IT NOW!!

State of Emergency (PS2)

THE STORY:
In the future the Corporation controls America. However, a small group of anarchists are attempting to "Go, go, go! Smash the Corporation!" and the civillian population rises up in a king-sized riot.

WHAT'S GOOD:
Did your boss give you a dressing-down? Girlfriend just jilted you? Then relieve your violent urges by beating civilians to death with other people's severed heads! Rockstar were hounded about the violence of the GTA games and so they took the violence out of GTA3...and made it into a game in it's own right! Max Payne (GBA)

I got this game on the basis of online reviews, and I have to say, that no matter good an idea it was, the flaws are huge and ruin it completely. This isn't a game with a few problems that you can ignore, it's plain bad because of them.

The shooting is ruined by off screen enemies, which you can't see. Seeing as the point of this game is in it's shooting, this problem ruins any enjoyment you might get. Also, the great and unique atmosphere is ruined by the horrendous lag, with more that a few enemies on screen the whole action slows down (and is even worse in bullet time). The graphics may look good in screenshots as well, but when playing they seem very tacky, and make the whole element of hiding, ducking and diving pretty worthless.

Midnight Club II

I've never owned or played a racing game before this one so I can't compare to any other. I was bought this as a Christmas present and I've got to say it is thoroughly enjoyable and involving.
As most people above agree it is a great game, the graphics are good the physics engine gives the game a realistic feel and because you are racing in streets rather than a track the sense of speed is heightened.
It's not a game for kids, there is mild swearing and the constant splat of cars hitting pedestrians as well as the occasional screams of "OH you've killed my baby" make it so.
There are 3 modes:
Circuit - As it sounds
Capture the flag - Apparently this is a classic game format

Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto III - Double Pack (PS2)

This is absolutly unbelievable good value for money. You get 2 of the greatest games ever for the price of 1.
In GTA3, the you have 2 fight off the triads and the columbians. And in Vice City you fight the Cubans and the Haitians.
The point of both games is to take over the cities, easier said than done. You start by driving your bosses girlfriends and end by taking out the heads of the mafia.
Gameplay 9/10
Value for money 10/10

This is a must buy
So buy it!!!

Grand Theft Auto: London - Special Edition (PS)

I remember seeing this game in a PSX magazine back in 1999, but never played on it til' this year. The gameplay and graphics are pretty awful and it was just created to keep the GTA franchise alive until the 3D one came out on the PS2. In comparison to GTA III and Vice City, it is a totally different game from a totally different world, and can't be compared on any scale to those games. I can see Rockstar knocking this GTA2 after material up over a few months. You just have to look at the graphics and everything about the game overall to understand how much time and develmont went into this thing. The only elevating thing about it really is the Rockstar humor that parodies swinging sixties Britain to chuckling extents.
