This game may be one of the oldest games i have ever played and it now being 2008 games have moved on a bit since then.
However, when i play this game it takes me back and i love the old fashioned unreal gameplay rather than the newer and more 'rushed' unreal tournament, for example Unreal 2004 was too fast for me.
The gameplay is great and i love the maps however small they are! The best mode has got to be capture the flag. Sometimes i love the cheats on this game... for example adding tonnes of bots to play in 1 match... the game went abit slower but there was about 60 bots!
This has to be one of my personal favourite ever first person shooters. I can remember buying ths in either 1997 or 1998 not long after I had completed the truly outstanding DOOM and was hungry for more FPS action and Duke Nukem did very nicely. It plays and looks very similar to DOOM only it is set in a futuristic Los Angeles. But what I personally really loved about Duke Nukem was it's unique and magical sense of humour that sadly I just don't see in that many video games.
From the very first level on a roof of a building and Duke says in a wonderfully deep and sincere voice DAM, THOSE ALIEN B*****DS ARE GONNA PAY FOR SHOOTING UP MY RIDE, I just knew that I was going to love this game about murderous aliens that have taken over the city ... Read More:
The game Rampage is abit of a nostalgia trip for me, and will be for anyone who owned a Commodore 64 back in the eighties (86) or played it in the arcades. With an abundance of 'wack' em 'smack' em ups on the various formats its a surprise to find that someone decided to resurrect a game from the eighties, and to my knowledge not a BIG one at that. What is even more surprising is that the whole concept and characters of the orginal C64 version have been recreated here only in PSone form (ie better graphics/sound/presentation). this game is literally Rampage C64 circa 1986 in 1997 form. Nothing has changed.
For those who'll care, basically you control 1 of 3 characters called Lizzy (dinosaur),Raph (Wolfman)or George (Gorilla), and the object is to smash ... Read More:
