FIFA 08 (Xbox 360)

I spend most of my time playing on manager made, so i will talk about this, Fifa had a problem two years ago, in that all you had to do was send a half decent scout out to the likes of Africa and Europe and he would come back with a young player with attributes in the high 70's or low 80's, and yes this problem is back.

why waste your hard earned cash (will come onto this in a moment) on players from other clubs when you can create a team of super players by simply sending out your scout - very unrealistic, half the fun of FIFA 07 was that it was really hit and miss when you brought in a scouted player, you really had to put in the time and effort in the hope the pitch time you gave them resulted in them developing into great players ... a great game, and great fun playing when you invite a few of your friends around, hook up the laptops and away you go, we would play this game for hours on end, very addictive and enjoyable!! BEST game i played in a long time.

FIFA 08 (PS2)

It simply isn't. Even though it's meant to be.

The crossing is so awful that none of the players even seem to know what the box is, they'd rather smash someone's face in when they're sitting innocently in the stand. The shooting is frequently off target. I find I'm actually more acurate shooting outside of the box than inside of it. It just seems, poor, comapred to it's PES counterpart. It appears harder to actually play...and that;s only when you can get it to play.

I have it in my collection. But It'll never let me play it. In fact, I've played one game in an hour and a half today. Officially the crashes are winning 4-1, because in that hour and a half I've had to turn the damned computer off FOUR times. Great for patient people, which ... Read More:

Fight Night Round 3 (PS3)

This is an absolutly fantastic game. I have only had it for one day and I cant stop playing it. The Get in the Ring mode is alot harder than third person because you cant see if your oppenent is leaning back or not but is alot more realistic. It puts you in third person and makes you take every blow like you are in the game. The career mode is also great! I havent done much of it yet but the parts I have done are very good. The characters are very realistic and the arenas make you feel like you are actually in the arena.

I really reccommend this to everyone out there even if you know nothing about boxing.

Counter -Strike: Source (PC DVD)

Although this game is quite old, the enjoyment gained when one plays this game easily compares to modern day games like GTA. The graphics are simple but realistic and doesn't require a top class PC at all. The gameplay is very easy to learn and once you have played it for about a week, you will be hooked. I currently go to a high school and out of a 1000 pupils, over 100 play this game because it is so enjoyable. Even though we have access to more modern games, we still choose this because it is absolutely amazing.
FUN. SIMPLE. ADDICTIVE. = GREAT BUY

The Sims 2 (PC CD)

This game is addictive, but also boring and a waste of time. The graphics are good n' flashy,but not enough for a Sim to crack a decent smile. In fact, they show their teeth as often as a Japanese Geisha when she laughs. The characters are stubborn and hard to control and everything has to be done a l'heure. The house building takes forever and I am the worst archetect in the world. Just any moment, someone from the real world will creep up behind you and go, "Boo!" like I did to my sister who was on the game. I found the Body Shop more fun and I wish you could download it separately. Personally, I think Maxis needs to extend its imagination into further horizons.

SimCity (Nintendo DS)

The game is rated as playable for 3 years and over, so I bought it for my 4 year old son.

Revenue, expenditure, tax and other metropolitan issues must be dealt with. How can this be playable by a 3 year old?!

Complete and utter waste of money.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames (PS2)

After enjoying the original for an unhealthily long time, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this. Worryingly I am online after playing for only one evening, trying to find out if there's any way to pass one of the early missions (yes, Ewen's helicopter). The changes to the gameplay are a little alienating, but the real problem is the playability. Perhaps dumbing down the PS3 version of the game for the PS2 is the problem, but I struggle to believe some of the missions were even tested by the creators! Overall, I struggle to give this game a "fair" rating, but that may be due to disappointment after the "Grand Theft Auto Goes to War" brilliance of the original. Buy second-hand, enjoy, then swear at it, then pass it on. Mine'll be on ebay this weekend if I can't crack this ludicrously impossible ... Read More:
