Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 (Wii)

This is my first Tiger Woods game on any format. I've had it a couple of weeks (opted for the 08 version after reading some of the reviews of the new one), and total addiction has gradually seeped in. I'm not a golf fan, so I can't rate it as a simulator, but as sheer, relaxing entertainment it's the best thing I've found yet for the Wii. The urge to play 'just one more round' is virtually irresistible.

Faults: The menu system is unintuitive, and if you don't know your golf you're left to figure out a lot for yourself. Further, the control system seems quite unresponsive the first few times you play it - until you realise that it's meant to be simulating a beginner golfer who can't control the strength of their swing etc.. Rock Band - Solus (PS2)

I've played the Guitar Hero games and the balance of skill level and enjoyability in those games is perfect.

Rock Band on either bass or lead guitar is a lot easier than Guitar Hero [any of them], as I got through the entire song list in Hard without failing a single song. In the Guitar Hero games, Hard really does mean Hard; and Expert means impossible unless you really learn the song.

As for the drums, Medium feels as it should - I can easily fail a few songs on Medium first time, so they've gotten the skill level just right. And Hard is as it should be. I'm awful on vocals, so I can't really judge that LOL.

But Rock Band is, of course, a very playable game - but I find it far more boring than the Guitar ... Read More:

Burnout - simple really...get a car...smash the heck out of it...WITH YOUR MATES!!!!
This?...no 2 player mode...CRIMINAL!!!!

No it feels like Need for Speed...and what's the point of that?!!??

Save your money...and play Burnout Revenge.

SimCity 4 Deluxe

I bought this game some time ago and I'm far from tired of it so it's been well worth the money.
You can sculpt your own region with mountains, lakes, rivers and rolling hills. Large bodies of water attract whales which was a wonderful surprise!
Onto this you can scatter forests and herds of animals.
Make a mountain lake and scatter trees and wild animals around. Now zoom in and you see eagles flying over the lake - it's truly stunning!

Making a complex region can take time and it can be frustrating but take time to look at the Maxis site and check out some of the recommended fan sites. Army of Two (PS3)

Although I knew from previous reviews that the amount of single player gameplay was limited, I bought this game to play online. I finished the campaign mode in one evening and was looking forward to joining friends online that had bought the game recently for the same reason. However, we could not connect. I contacted the EA support line and they told me that the servers are down - that was a week ago. I would say that £30 is fairly expensive for one evening of gameplay and we're going to trade this back-in as there is no date from EA for the servers being available.

The Simpsons (Xbox 360)

This was the first xbox 360 game i bought and thought it was really good! I was a bit worried about buying it at first because i was worried it would be just another mildly amusing, game that would take about 2 hours to complete. As it turned out it was completley the opposite! It's original, fun to play and will keep you entertained for hours on end. I would recommend it for a first-time game to anybody with an xbox 360, wii etc.
My only trouble with it is that it is sometimes a bit to difficult to figure out how to do things, like find collectables or get to a certain lever. I think the age rating is partly that anybody younger might (and i say might!) have trouble working out what to do.

Mass Effect (PC DVD)

I found Mass Effect to be an excellent game, and it is one of the rare few that actually makes my completion list (BioWare now being the only company to have two completely separate games on that list), due to sheer enthralling storytelling.
The characters are interesting, the gameplay fun, the story well told, and all in all it's one of the best games I've ever played.

As a side note, a lot of reviews, both on Mass Effect and other EA releases have been whining incessantly about the DRM, but since it can be removed without stopping the game from running, I really don't see what all the fuss is about. Get rid of it and play the game anyway if you want to, or stop complaining about something you weren't going to play anyway.

Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (PC)

I bought this game the other week. Fortunately i waited for the September release and consequently had none of the logging in nightmare others seem to have had. I should point out that i'm only level 12 so i probably haven't seen all the game has to offer, still i cant help feeling slightly dissapointed. The quest system is easy enough to use although half the time i dont bother reading them. The dead mob counter next to the map is enough to tell me i am doing the Emporer's will. Because of this lack of emotional investment i find myself totally apathetic the hundreds of dead villagers littering the landscape. As a consequence i feel like i'm just grinding xp and, for some reason, i'm sad theres no downtime (at least meditating in EQ forced me to interact!) Battlefield 2: The Complete Collection (PC DVD)

Well for the person who said the game is a let down you are so wrong, you have many kits to choose from different teams maps etc, and for this price you cant go wrong, as for the idiots online find a well admined server and maybe apply for their clan?

I would recommend buying this game and it is worth every penny.
