Resident Evil 2 (PS)

Resident Evil 2 is so good that I recently played through it three times in one sitting (one of the few benefits of unemployment is the abundance of free time). From the opening FMVs and that first awesome section dashing through Raccoon City ("the next thing I knew, the entire city was infested with zombies") through to the Police Headquarters, cavernous sewers and the then-traditional laboratory-set ending, this game exudes quality through and through.

While some were put off by it, the Resident Evil control system was in my mind perfect, and only improved upon in Resident Evil 4 (which much of contemporary gaming owes A LOT to). The soundtrack is incredible, with each and every scene scored with the perfect blend of atmosphere ... Read More:

11th Hour

A lot of work obviously went into this game, technically it's very impressive and I really wanted to like it, as I'd quite enjoyed The 7th Guest, but unfortunately I didn't enjoy playing The 11th Hour at all. More of everything which made The 7th Guest good doesn't make The 11th Hour better.

I found most of the puzzles and mini-games manageable (a few are quite easy), but too many of them are preposterously difficult and could take many hours to solve without cheating. I just don't see the point of making some of the puzzles so hard that no-one's going to manage to solve them in any sort of reasonable period of time. Resident Evil - Platinum (PS)

I bought this long after I had got RE2 and played the Code:Veronica demo on the Dreamcast and in an issue of Dreamcast Magazine (Nemesis review) it was horrified at the possible prospect of this being put on the Dreamcast since everything else was,Speculations aside I bought this and within a couple of minutes I was hooked,yes the graphics are dated,the dialogue is terrible but it has atmosphere in spades.

Dino Crisis (PS)

This has got to be the best game i've ever played!!! The storyline will keep you gripped to the screen a lot longer than expected & you'll want to carry on solving puzzle after puzzle. With 2 alternate endings & some rewards after you've completed the game this is well worth having in your collection!!!

To some up THE GAME UP...... it's FREAKIN' AWESOME!!!

Fallout 1 and 2 - White Label Range (PC CD)

Some people say it is buggy I say patch it and it is fine, it has got to be the best RPG of all time along with BGII, you even get FO1 thrown in free... and only the most die hard RPG haters will be able to complain about this game. If you don't buy it you must be mad it is one of the all time classics, it even invented a whole new genre, I have played it through dozens of times and have never been bored with it. It can also be modded immenseley and has many websites dedicated to modding it and tinkering with every aspect of it.

In short BUY THIS GAME, it is only a tenner what have you got to loose?

Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (Xbox)

Well as I am a die hard fallout fan I would like to say...WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS!!!. What a total let down to the fallout series I can believe they put this out on the shop floor. Where was the free roaming from town to town, character creation screen and mini quests we didn't even get to see them. what a terrible game! please dont be as foolish as myself and buy this, if your a noob to fallout get 1, 2 and tactics for pc much better game play.....and news is fallout 3 has been put back into production bring it on!

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance (PS2)

First the bad news, this has very little to do with the PC game other than name and world settings.

Ok that over with if you play this game with no expectations of a deep RPG then I am sure you will enjoy it. The graphics are very good and extremely smooth. Sound is a bit lacking but when it matters it does help the atmosphere.

Game play wise it is very reminiscent of Diablo but perhaps without that games polish. There are three playable characters with an additional one to unlock. Levelling up your character is fun as is finding unique armour and weapons. The game is best enjoyed questing with friends.

Overall a very enjoyable game.

Fallout Collection (FO, FO2, Tactics)

These games a great fun to play, see to last ages and are simple enough for even silleh people like me too play.
I give it a 10/10 or 5 stars, shame about fall out 3 would have been nice to try that one too. the game play is point and click. but it has a good story line.the graphics are good enough to play the game and enjoy it. the sound is good too and it is just enjoyable But very hard at times so be prepared for a challenge.

Not To BE CONFUSED WITH THE BOOKS. (WHICH ARE COMEPLETELY DIFFERENT. THE COMPUTER GAME IS AMAZING.)

The computer game Baldurs gate 2 is nothing short of amazing. The story continues on from the first on. You donn't have to be a D&D fan to enjoy it. Its about the same main characters from BG1. It is truly like reading a book, or rather experiencing a story. However as an active participant in the story, you are free to make your own decisions and each decision has different consequences. This means that you can play this game several times, and have fairly different experiences and endings. There are main quests, but also side quests which are optional, and character specific quests.
In effect, you can choose what you want to do and how to do it.

Resident Evil 2 (PS)

The very best sequels are those that take everything good from their predecessors and expand upon it. Happily, RE2 does exactly that.

Noticeably larger than RE, RE2 moves from a post-apocalyptic suburb to a deserted police station, a sewer system and a laboratory. The puzzles are back, as are the trademark, shuffling zombies (along with new, deadlier enemies). The weapon count is also dramatically increased (which, I would say, was the one flaw with RE). Another significant addition is the extra scenarios for each character, which can be accessed once the main games have been completed.
