Great game

In response to some of the other reviewers I find the driving more of a challenge as I dislike the more arcade-style driving games. I find the shooting cover system works really well and I haven't come across any faults, even though I bought the game the day it came out.

I have given the game 5 stars overall because of the pure beauty of Liberty City. Sure, it may not have the best graphics, but the scenes are magnificent. Only four stars for fun as the off-line play does get boring after a while, but the online play can be mental.

Hope the next game comes out soon, and that it does inherit a mix of IV's beauty and San Andreas's huge map and absolute craziness. A Mercs 2 style "blow everything ... Read More:

Resistance 2 (PS3)

Coming from a person who has played Halo 2/3 many a time at mates houses and who really doesn't believe it deserves the praise it gets "A True Halo Beater" could seem a little bias. The reason why I bring this up then is because the first game R:FOM was dubbed as PS3's answer to Halo. But even though I don't think Halo is all that I really didn't think R:FOM was close to Halo. However it was clear that R:FOM had potential, and with the second one the makers really have created something that is better bolder and bigger. (And I really do mean BIGGER!)

Bioshock is one of the best games I've played on the PS3, and certainly one of the best first person shooters. It's also one of the few games that I'd consider playing again from start to finish.

One of the game's highlights is its original and fascinating setting. The story takes place in the year 1960, in an underwater city called Rapture. The city was built by Andrew Ryan as a utopia for like-minded individuals with an unwavering belief in free enterprise and laissez faire capitalism. I bought this game for my younger brother for his birthday. He doesn't usually play this sort of platform of game. However, this failed to stop him completing it within 4 hours, probably less. He played it on a fairly difficult setting. I paid 40 quid for it from game and they would not take it back! Stuck now with a useless birthday present that my brother is incredibly dissapointed with, I'd have been better off buying him nothing.

once again tr has gone off on some prince of persia rip off. people who say this is a good game really need to be psychlogically examined. at least core design had a unique physics engine and could tell a good story.
this is utter tripe and the series should be handed back to CORE DESIGN or i will never buy another TR game again.....

Very excited about the game and chose to order it over call of duty world at war. BIG mistake. The graphics are o.k so happy enough to begin with. but soon enough i began to see it was a one trick pony. Missions are boring and the huge map is rubbish for traveling because of the slow vehicles, bad control of your character and the guard posts(guards are unrealistic and annoying). i do like the idea of guard posts but they need more work. Like if you hide and the guards dont see you, they somehow know where you are. Also when youve driven through the guard post other guards just happen to drive down the road. Or there car (same as what you are driving) just happens to be faster. so the main issues are boring missions and annoying navigation around the map.

Fallout 3 (PS3)

After MGS4 came and went, Fallout 3 was my next most anticipated game of the year, and after finally getting time to play it, I find my feelings on the final product a bit mixed.

It is as open and free as you'll expect if you've played previous Bethesda classic Oblivion, as Fallout 3 is pretty much identical in how most of the game works, but with a delightfully fifties centric view of a possible post apocalyptic future where you're free to roam the lands around ruined Washington DC following a fairly interesting central quest that sees you cross paths with some very well realised creatures and denizens of the wastes and presents a very satisfying, if slightly repetitive world in which to live.

Yes, it has a distinctive graphical style, but that is where the originality ends. I wanted to love it, I really did.

As mentioned elsewhere - it is very linear - there is one way through each level and that is it. This is most definitely NOT a next-gen game. Follow a set route and occasionally press a button - whoop-de-doo. Here we are with a next gen PS3 and a nicely rendered city that we could explore...but no, we run along a set route and occasionally press a button. Oh, and there's the odd hidden bag to collect (which makes all the difference!).

This game looks great, but if you are one of those people who doesnt like reapeating things over and over then dont buy this. Most of the time you simply dont have enough weapons/ ammo, so it takes you about 10 goes to complete a small section. This can get very boring !! Also the aliens appear from no where you have no indication of where they are coming from and when you try to run from them to get a better point to shoot... guess what you bump into a door or a box that materializes from no where !! Apart from the few annoyances, the game is pretty creepy, weird noises and pretty gruesome aliens, when you get killed which is frequent, the killing seaquence can be a bit drawn out !!
