Hey guys. We bought this new 360 as, rather neatly, we saw the advert for it on the side of a bus, and realised that the price had been lowered and the Hard Drive upgraded. I knew their had been a lot of mixed press as to whether the reliability of the 360 could be under-pinned by the great games and online service on offer, but after looking at the improving reviews and browsing some nice games on offer, we thought we'd just go for it.

Not being a family of hard-core gamers, we just wanted something that was good value for money and offered descent entertainment for rainy days and times were the TV listing inevitably let you down on their definition of entertainment. Xbox Live is essential to get the most from your xbox. Although it is 40 pounds the game play is seamless unlike archaic PC and Playstation online games where you have to connect to various servers. Microsoft funds and runs all the game servers so they are virtually lag free and rarely down.
With the new system you don't have to ring any more to cancel the account if you register with this card on your xbox 360 console, your account will just revert to silver after the 12 months which is free.

While this product does work very well from what I've seen, it's simply too expensive. Couple this with the £40 a gold membership costs, you'll end up paying roughly £100 just to get Live up and running. Those who can connect there's directly by wire don't need to worry as they don't have to shell out £50-£60 for this, but for people like me, who's 360 lies ever so far away from a wireless router, it's an extremely annoying hinderance.

Also take into account, the Wii has this built in, now, fair enough, the Wii's online service isn't as developed or as good as Live, but it's free and built in nevertheless. Advantages: everything!

Disadvantages: doesn't come with a rechargeable battery...

I've liked games for a long time, since I was a little kid. I've used a lot of controllers before; pretty much all the Nintendo consoles, SEGA Consoles, all the Playstations and the original Xbox.

The truth is that I was never too big on controllers, but having got a hold of GRID and Lego Indiana Jones, I decided that needed one.

This is THE controller, if you don't already have one, or are not looking for a specialist type, I highly recommend this one!

Pro's: Great design, comfortable in the hands, new games come with in built compatibility (no need to set the keys), great for football, action, platform and driving games, very responsive, same standard as an Xbox 360 controller. No need for batteries, drivers install in a minute. Can be used as a second controller if you have an Xbox 360, the wire means that you don't accidentally turn on the Xbox when you use it.

The headset was great for almost a month until the actual plastic part on the headset broke off, meaning the earpiece and microphone were left. So I had to bring in my own way of holding the headset up by strapping a hairband around my face to hold the microphone up. The design overall was flimsy and can be broken very easily. It stopped working tonight.

I ordered this play & charge kit, as I was told it was an official microsoft product from a seller called 'ambertouch' the kit that arrived is an unofficial play and charge kit.

I plugged it in, waitied about 6 hour and the battery still did not charge, also the kit got VERY hot, hot enough to burn your hand.

Would not buy this product ever again, as the unofficial version is clearly dangerous and does not work.

I have owned an Elite since February 2008 and so far I have had no problems with it whatsoever. It is certainly nosier than the other consoles on the market, but for ease of use, unparalleled online gameplay and a large gaming library I seem to spend more time on the Elite than my other consoles.

From my experience, the multi-format titles seem a little more polished on the Elite, but this is largely due to the fact that games have been developed for the 360 and then ported to other formats. I fully expect this to change as this generation progresses.
