This paperback with 353 pages has a large colour map on pages 4-5. The first few pages deals with getting started. Then the book goes on to the history,culture, environment, safaris and the Tanzanian wildlife. There is a chapter on food and drink.
The book then moves on to different areas of Tanzania. You need to decide where you are going and then concentrate on that chapter. Once decided, log on to internet and check the lodges, roads and maps. The internet gives you lodges and camps in detail with photos.
The last chapters in the book deal with, transport, health, language and do's and don'ts. These are a must read. There are beautiful colour photos, maps and street maps through out the book.

We got this book before we went on a two week holiday to Goa and found the book to be excellent and extreemly helpful. As we had not been to Goa before, it gave us an idea of what to expect and which places to go to and what to see.

Because of this book we were able to plan what we wanted to see and managed to fit into our two week holiday a trip to Arambol staying in a coco hut on the beach, spice plantation @ Ponda, Fort Aguda, Dhudsagar Waterfalls, Old Goa, Anjuna market, Ingos Night Bazzar, Bondla Eco Tourism Park, boat trip to monkey beach - and we still had time to relax and soke up the sun!

Would definatley recommend this book to anyone who hasnt been to Goa and is thinking of going there - there is so much to do and ... Read More:

This little book will provide hours of amusement! Signs from around the world which truly are absurd and ridiculous. Those with email will doubtless recognise a couple of these signs, including the classic "Go back towards your behind" airport sign and one of my personal faves being the sign in several different languages including the English translation "This sign is to stop tourists becoming lost"I cannot recommend this book enough - particularly good at Christmas, as this will be passed around all day and will provide a guranteed belly laugh for every person who flicks through it. Buy a copy for yourself and then copies for all your friends and family!

The Asia Book (Lonely Planet Pictorial)

This book is beautiful. It really brings back memories of my overland trip around Asia and covers everything from the food to the music to the people. The pictures are fantastic and cover everything from beautiful scenery to the local people. I cannot recommend this enough - if you have travelled around Asia then it's a must buy.

Dublin (Lonely Planet City Guide)

We found the LP guide to Dublin to be as accurate and informative as all the others we've used.

Information is presented in a very easy to follow format. Recommendations are to be relied upon. We tried a Lebanese restaurant in the book and had a truly delicious meal. We booked a lodge on LP recommendation and it was exactly as described in the book. We did a walking tour in the book and it was brilliant.

I don't think I could actually do a sightseeing holiday now without LP as a companion. I'd feel lost without one.
