There was not much new in this edition and I wished I had stuck with the previous version. It's misleading to call it 'new' when so much of the content is 'old'. It represented poor value in my opinion. Also, some of the walk descriptions are vague and not that easy to follow with great chunks of the routes not described at all.

Having recently located from one capital city (London) to another (Ottawa) I can thoroughly recommend this guide to anybody contemplating a similar move. So far (three weeks in Canada and counting) I have not found a topic that I needed advice on that this book could not answer. In fact, I have frequently found that I am perhaps better informed than some of the resident population! The book's style is open and engaging, and where differences between provinces exist they are outlined accurately and succinctly. My only, minor, criticism is that the indexing could be better, but not by much. If you combine this book with one of the better tourist guides I can't see that there would be much you aren't prepared for.

I have used Lonely Planet guides a number of times to good effect, however the Argentina guide was woefully inaccurate, resulting in a good deal of frustration. The maps are both out of date and in some cases never correct in the first place. A suggested option for tango in Buenos Aires led us into a tourist trap hell hole which ended up costing over £50 and the police getting involved. I think the book was written in 2003 and therefore is inadequate to guide a stranger.
In the end we abandonded the book and found life much easier. Argentina is a fabulous country - simply stunning. Buy another guide to avoid wasting your time there - but enjoy the place.

This book gives a great introduction for the green traveller who would like to see Europe, but does not want to fly there. In the book are a set of city guides that give clear advice backed up by some fantastic colour photography. The key advantage of this book over other guide books is the fact that it describes how to get there, how long it will take and the costs you can expect to pay. The book also makes it clear how to use the individual transport networks in each place making travelling within them easy. All the trips are planned from the UK, therefore this book will be of less relevence to non UK nationals. Overall a fantastic guide book.

Haha, it really is incredible - I never thought I'd find some of the best places to eat for less than a fortune in such a small book like that, but apparently I did. It is ridiculously easy to find the kind of place you want to eat (cheapest, closest to you, a certain cuisine etc), and the reviews consist of opening/closing hours, special menus, the highlights of the place, and critique on the food, service and location. It's incredible how accurate they are :) Definitely worth the buy.

As usual an excellent publication Eyewitness.Very comprehensive coverage by area in alphabetical order. Maps clear an concise especially with the enlarged section which is useful for walking about especially as it has a fold over book mark. Found the two part maps of the Forum East/west difficult to use as you tend to visit it in one go. When you use the Palatine map unless you enter by there suggested entrance it is quite hard to relocate I would definately buy one but i linked mine with an OXford Archaeological Guide by Amanda Claridge. Ate at some of the retaurants in the guide they were reliable, checked off some of the hotels it suggested but contacted hotels own websites for better deals.

After reading all the good reviews of this guide I just bought it based on them. I should have gone and had a look at the book first. While it did list all the attractions it did not tell you how to get to any of them. There was a map reference but I wanted to know which was the nearest metro/tube stop , which tram went there, which stop to get off at.Also the name of many attractions were only sign posted in Czech but the guide book only had them named in English so I couldn't match up the signs. Disappointed with book but not with Prague.
