BRIO 33337 Wooden Railway System: Short Curved Tracks

Well, pretty much does what it says on the box. Four shorter curves to add to your Brio system. Like the short straights, they help join things together when layouts don't quite reach or fit - invaluable when creating larger layouts as my daughter got older and required more than one station, a tunnel, two bridges, a farm...

However, four isn't many - like the larger curves one pack only makes a semi-circle - and we found we had to buy multiple boxes of basics such as these which works out extortionately expensive. Better, we found, to supplement your Brio starter set with cheaper (but almost as good quality) track from one of the many alternative manufacturers.

The idea of a battery powered train is lovely but the reality of it with two boys who don't yet grasp the concept of turning things off is somewhat different. With new batteries percy is capable of pulling quite a few trucks, that is until he is used on carpet rather than the track. However, batteries don't last long and he spends more time waiting for new batteries than being played with. I would only recommend this train and in fact any battery powered train for older children.

I bought this train along with the railway set and some other engines for my son's third birthday. He is an obsessed Thomas fan and I was hoping to invest in a toy that would give him pleasure for a long time to come. One year on, whilst he still plays with Gordon and the other engines and gets alot of fun from all his trains, they are all now looking rather worse for wear. The paint chips off very easily and Gordon in particular has large areas where the paint has peeled off completely. The train does not glide smoothly over the track and when he puts a few engines together to make a long train, it derails far too easily. All in all I wish I had stuck with his road and rail thomas train set and trains, or gone for the far superior Brio wooden train ... Read More:
