Wooden Thomas & Friends: James the Red Engine

My 3 year old (a great Thomas Fan) was given a Flair James as a present. He gives all his wooden engines a hard life! But, I must say the Flair toy has faired much much worst than all his older Brio engines (I understand that Brio no longer make Thomas toys), the paint finish has really flaked and worn away, the toy also appears to be much more flimsily held together -not screwed like the Brio engines and will need to be kept an eye on. Also from a purely 'Dad' perspective, the printing quality of the graphics on the toy are really poor. All in all, it should not be selling for the same price as the Brio version it replaced. Be warned!

Twist and Roll Rattle

I love this product. It was recommended by a friend and is the only toy my 16 week-old has shown any interest in so far. As soon as it arrived he grabbed it and was fascinated by it all day. It is beautifully made, in colourful wood and is easy for tiny hands to get a grip on - excellent!

For adults there is something wonderfully reassuring about well-crafted wooden toys; I guess because they remind us of the toys we played with when we were small. However, I also think that it is good for children to play with toys made from natural materials like wood.

This is an extremely good toy - well designed and cleverly constructed to the highest standards (in fact the build quality is amazing - visiting adults often spend a long time marvelling at the quality). It is great fun too, my son has had hours of enjoyment playing with his.

I bought this set along with other 6 dolls house furniture sets from amazon a few weeks ago. I must say it looks, feels and even smells great (of real wood)! Pintoy dolls house furniture sets are definitely the best on the market. They are very sturdy, colourful, educational, are very well made and have oodles of details which will really amaze you. My daughter is yet to set the sets which I bought her for Christmas but as a very fussy mum I must say these toys look great fun. The quality is definitely a mile ahead of the similar products available at ELC and other retailers. However, I must admit I bought the Rosebud Cottage from ELC but the furniture would look great with any dolls house.
