Fantastic vtech have done it again - they capture childrens imagination brilliantly. My son loves his vpocket he is very nearly 4 and I wanted something he could enjoy that was also educational and this ticks all the boxes. The games each teach various different skills, numbers, colours, shapes, problem solving, french, spelling etc. We bought this instead of the v-smile console as I thought the console was quite clumsy and less flexible to our needs. The games go up to the 7-9 age range so it should last him and his brother years. Great investment. My son is already reasonably capable of using the controls on his cousins playstation so I knew he would cope with the controls on this. It connects up to the TV easily yet it's also portable so ... Yeah okay, I agree that you do have to unscrew the back of the back to charge the battery pack. However this means that it is safer for your little one to play with. You have to unsrew the unit whether you are replacing batteries or recharging so why not save a small fortune and buy the rechargeable power pack. Replaceable batteries will only last a couple of days max in the v smile.

I bought this toy for my son in november to give to him for xmas but he found it and would not leave it alone so I gave it to him early. He played with it that much by xmas I had to change the batteries! He at 12 months could quite easily press the buttons but I do find this toy more anoying than any other so last time the batteries ran out I did not replace them.
