Got this as I've been through a couple of PicooZ-type heli-things, and then graduated to a 4-channel co-axial. So, this interested me, just to see it would actually fly. And it does, although you need a fair bit of space to use it indoors, and something this light will not cope with even a tiny breeze outside, so don't even bother trying. May have to take it in to work, in order to have a bit more room, but managed some circuits in a large room at home.

The looks of it, combined with the shrieking noise it makes when flying, make it ... well, not quite a 'bat out of hell', but certainly something different, and a little insane too, which I like!

My son got the car for xmas. Constructing it was fun - you build the frame from meccano and then attach it to the chassis which contains lights, sound, radio control receiver and motor for rear wheel drive and motor for front wheen steering. Having assembled everything, my son played with it. 5 minutes later he returned saying the drive wheels were making a funny sound and sometimes didn't turn.
I disassembled the car and looked inside the chassis. The main motor has a metal cog that drives a plastic cog assembly (gear reduction) which then powers the back wheels. The metal cog had ground out one or two teeth of the plastic cog so that when in the right position, the motor spins but with no power transfer to the rear wheel.

Micro Scalextric - Transformers Set

I bought this smaller scale scalextric as some of the others are far more expensive. It was a popular xmas present for my son who is 9, and was also popular with his friends. Cars can frequently come off the track though, probably because kids tend to pull the trigger full on! Overall good fun. Comes with 2 transformer cars which are quite small and fidly.

Its a great fun!
It does fly away with a wind so be aware :-) I had to use ladder few times already. Little tip here: when you attach something to weight down the nose (piece of wood) it is much easier to controll outdoor.
It seems to be rain resistant.
Indoor.. well.. you would need a 50 by 50 foot room to make full turn.
Battery last long time but the 15-20 minutes charging... (15 minutes flying) well why not to buy two of them or as a second - helicopter!

Having read the previous reviews, I felt obliged to add mine. I agree that Daddy Pig's ears breaking off is a problem, mine have been glued back on twice - but looks fine as far as the kids are aware. The steering technique is pretty good - I thought it was fun and it responded fine - but only after fitting good quality new batteries, we initially put cheap ones in and it did not steer properly. It does what it says and the kids like it but admittedly they lose interest when they can't get it to do what they want but that is just down to a 3-year-olds coordination, so better for a 4 or 5 year old perhaps..

The one they sent me got flashing lights down the side and flashes red when battery low. The eyes are white LED which are very bright. Very durable.
