My sons are aged 8 and 4 and they have loved this toy. I really like Playmobil because of the level of attention to detail that's put into the design. This boat was easy to put together (more so than other Playmobil toys we've had) and is very robust (it even goes in the bath!).

This set comes with four people, life jackets, an inflatable mattress, even food and plates and cutlery (which pack away under the beds when the boat is out on the water). There is a tiny sink with a tap and even a toilet with a lid that raises and lowers. There are four beds. Putting it together is, as usual for Playmobil, a nightmare.
Lots of tiny fiddly bits, some difficult to follow instructions (tieing the sails is like something from the Krypton Factor) and a 5yo trying to help. Once assembled it's a good looking and pretty sturdy boat. The sail keeps falling down but that just means it is easier to access the rest of the ship. The problem is what to do with it. It does float in the bath but leaves little room for anybody else, I wouldn't want to take it to a river or pond. That leaves the paddling pool in our park which isn't the best place to get your playmobil stuff out. The majority of the time it is played with on land.
