I just bought this for my little brothers 12th birthday he was excited when he saw it he played with it for less than a minute before maro went crazy and drove all around the room without a single button being pushed. Sometimes he choosed to work other times he doesnt. As a collectors item it's nice but as a toy for children it's very risky.

We bought this for our daughter as her 6th Birthday gift, and she loves it. She has pixel chix two storey house as well, so connects the mall and the house. If you want your 6yr old to be self engaged and this is the one, keeps them at it for hours :)

An excellent purchase that I'm very pleased with. The game is well designed, the instructions are clear and precise enough to get playing straight away.

The complexity of the game is well pitched so that you can pick up the basics straight away, making it very accesible, but the level of strategy is deep enough so that you will develop new tricks and moves along the way to increase it's longevity.

It's also incredibly addictive, which is not bad thing as it challenges you to use your brain power not only to plot your own moves, but to try to counteract your opponent also.

We bought this for my daughter when she was 5 and she loved using it, we went on to buy several other games (Ariel's Undersea Adventures, Cinderella and Scoobie Doo) all have been very entertaining and I would say they have helped with her numeracy and literacy in a very positive but undemanding way. HOWEVER!!! The first console died (one month before the warranty ran out, but we'd lost the receipt!) and the replacement that we then purchased has now also died with the same symptoms - you tried to turn it on and although on occassions it might have made an effort, more often than not it did not, resulting in an upset child. I guess this is a little early on to be leaving a review for this Item as I've only just got it, and so I may be back to update this review in time, but as I was so pleasantly surprised an impressed upon immediate operation, I thought I'd leave one anyway!

This is made of a much higher quality than most other small virtual pets I have seen. It has a touch sensitive area on the front below the screen, and looks and appears very durable. It's more 'substantial' and is much bigger, and even the graphics are clearer to look at. The Instruction Booklet is in perfect English (which makes a change with these things) and very comprehensive and done in much and easy to understand detail.
