I was looking for a replacement for my travel magnetic scrabble as the letters on that tend to fall off as the glue holding the letter to the magnet melts in the heat. Apart from that, it was a well designed set which was compact and everything fitted into the board when not being used.
This version is much bigger. The board opens on one side (not on both as per other reviewers - maybe they have changed the design) to hold the racks and any unplayed tiles while played tiles can simply remain on the board.
My main gripe is that shuffling the tiles on the rack is not easy as they are quite a tight fit. I m anticipating losing a few tiles before long.
This might call itself Scrabble Original, but it isn't. The Scrabble sets I played on as a lad all had wee holes in the board and pegs on the tiles so that the game wouldn't be ruined by the slightest knock. Sadly no more. It also comes in a stupidly huge box to make storage unnecessarily awkward. Disappointing.
I find the naivety of the "I lost because I rolled a 4..." comment startling.
I loved this game as a child and played it often, I now have children of my own and we play it. In all the hundreds of games I have played over the years only a very small percentage was bad luck the deciding factor in the game and I cannot think of a single game when a game was won because of good-luck. There is an element of chance in the game but there is far and away more skill and strategy than chance.
Any player that is out because he rolled a 4 rather than a 5 had probably lost the game a long time ago and that was just the killing blow. Perhaps he had overstretched and was caught out or perhaps another player had risked his fortune by ... Read More:
Carcassonne is a brilliant game full of surprises. It's basically just taking a tile and laying it in the right place, but there's a bit of oomph you've to put into it as well, and that is what makes it fun and exciting. I can't wait to get some expansions which are supposed to make it better.
It's price is very good for the game and I'm very pleased with it, it's also very addictive. William.
This has to be the best and most addicting game ever! I love it. It reminds me when I was younger (about 8-10 y.o) when I used to go to the pub with my dad and his friend, I'd make them play it with me all the time and 'bet' money, because I was only young, I obviously had no money, so if they won they got nothing, but whenever I won, they'd give me 50p, I used to leave the pub about a tenner up, haha. I've been trying to find this game for ages, could never find it anywhere, never thought to look on Amazon! So happy I've found it again.

There are thousands of new games every year. Most of them disappear without a trace. Some acquire a devoted but small following. Just a few become classics. Rummikub is one these.
Invented in Romania in 1940, Rummikub is essentially a tile version of the traditional card game Rummy. It didn't really make it internationally until the 1970s, but by 1980 it had won a string of awards and established itself as a great family game.
Basically, it's about creating sets of three or more in a row of tiles either in runs of the same colour (1-2-3-4 etc), or the same number but in different colours. The winner is the person who gets rid of all their tiles first. The clever bit is that you can rearrange the tiles already on the board in order to place your own tiles, ... Read More:

This board game is fantastic fun for any little girl who loves princesses. I can only say that since this game arrived three days ago my little 6 year old princess has asked to play it 5 or 6 times and that is a first. Normally she is bored by board games.
